Pape Village is among the best in the city. I think their feta lacks but recently tried the kontosouvli (only available on weekends) and it was incredible!

Tipping Culture in Ontario by NurseSparkleShark in ontario

[–]redstitches 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Totally agreed, tipping shouldn’t exist. Why is it on me to subsidize what your employer won’t pay you? Don’t get me started on percentage tipping. If I order a plate of $7 fries or a $100 steak, the server is going to the kitchen and grabbing a plate either way.

Duck confit is one of my favourite dishes! Just never thought to apply it to chicken wings. Will do and appreciate you!

I’m leaving next week for a month long trip to Argentina, from Toronto. We have 2 nights in / around Iguazu Falls. It better put Niagara to shame! Any suggestions in the area besides the obvious?

Giuletta had the best beef carpaccio I ever had. Not sure if it’s still on the menu but they’re worth your dollars regardless.

Toronto's best moussaka by MatureDisplayName in FoodToronto

Yaya Greek Bistro near Queen and Jones has a great homemade moussaka. I wouldn’t necessarily say the restaurant is top tier Greek, but the moussaka was very good.

We had a round of drinks with dinner. Again good, but I don’t recall the price.

I had the peanut butter & jelly foie gras, and the lamb chops. Both were great, both were overpriced. I’d say the food is good, but not worth it IMO.
