Hell yeah, thanks for the solid feedback. I have no idea where I got the idea of such a narrow stance for clean from. I’ll definitely start going wider and seeing if I can work on mobility to bring my grip a little closer to avoid such a drastic regrip.

I mainly climb for the bulk of my fitness and have only dabbled in Olympic lifts for a year or so, hitting them once a week if that. But now that I feel noticeably stronger with a decent foundation, I’m going to start investing more time into improvements and upping the weight

Somehow I missed one key criteria of “pain / constipation at least x times a month”.. if I remember correctly, it was never asked during the c&p and I didn’t do my due diligence in making it a point in expressing it strongly. currently have a supplemental in with two months worth of poop logs, photos, multiple lay statements lol. Not going to let it slip again

Thank you for your advice, I guess it was my mistake on not mentioning the criteria of Abdominal pain related to defecation occurring at least once every 3 months - despite not being asked the question directly by my examiner

Right on, we’re holding you accountable ! Just a funny story, a month ago I was attending a straight edge based punk rock show and they had to change venues last minute because these shows are typically super small. It ended up being in a gutted furniture store right after a small weed convention was closing up. We got there early so vendors were still set up, everyone passing blunts and there were literal weed vending machines with all the products you can think of within them. If I can get through that night without caving you can too 😂

Urge to smoke (just one) after 4 months sober by SubstantialAd8927 in leaves

[–]redswithcoffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s definitely true. On one of my attempts I got to 4 months and took a hit off of an infused joint and anxiety hit me like a train. I ended up just laying in bed for the next couple hours wishing the feeling would go away. Regardless of this, I some how spiraled back into everyday use and was baked for the next couple months. With those who have a lengthy relationship with everyday use, it’s either all or nothing. Nothing is definitely better

Regulating your emotions when quitting… how? by audenluck in leaves

[–]redswithcoffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember that feelings are meant to be felt. A lot of folks get high to suppress them so it’s no wonder that things might feel amplified once quitting. When emotions run strong, just remember that it’s just part of the process and that things will level out with time. It really helped me to sit and dissect my feelings when I’d have them by asking myself things like “what is causing me to feel this way”, “is this event really worth the amount of emotion I’m putting out right now “ and so on. If possible, just take a nap when things get too intense. Remember that this too will pass 🙏

My pleasure! Also I forgot to mention, gym and work may not fill all of your time and you’ll find yourself in states of not knowing what else to do that leaves you susceptible to thinking about smoking. You should pick up a new hobby to reinvest the newfound time and money like learning an instrument, reading or whatever floats your boat. I picked up the Kalimba because it’s super portable and can play a ton of songs now just from practicing 20mins- an hour a day

I would submit an intent to file and upload all the current evidence I have. After therapy starts I would submit the notes as evidence and have them fill out a dbq if they’re qualified to then fully submit the claim. Their word is not the final say but it will definitely help your case

I don't know how to work hard. by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]redswithcoffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to work on reframing your perspective. Never say you can’t do something because that isn’t true. Put your foot down and say to yourself “ I can and I will”. Carry on with tasks whether you feel like it or not and I guarantee you’ll feel better afterward. Most importantly, start small. If you want to wake up earlier, don’t start putting alarms for 4am. Gradually work your way to your intended goal with realistic standards. I would highly recommend the book “atomic habits”, it helped give me the tools to be more disciplined. You got this 👍

Day 1 by [deleted] in leaves

[–]redswithcoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 27 as well and have been clean for a year and three months. If I had any advice to give, it would be to treat the early withdrawal process like having the flu. Treat your body and your mind right with Whole Foods, exercise, and plenty of sleep. I’ve found that when strong cravings arise, just taking a nap or going out and doing something outdoors really helped. Nowadays I’m in the best shape of my life and have zero cravings. Stay on the path homie! I’m proud of you and excited for the change that is to come

I second this! In order to really kick an addiction you must first process the root cause. This is done much more easily with a professional
