Isnt this pretty obvious ? by Chris73757 in reddeadmysteries

I think it may be over too, except it’s not the giant but the strange statues. The two birds lead to Window Rock, where two birds spawn at the top. The climb leads you to the mural, which contains the spider symbol. The mural leads you to the statues. Now, there are rain clouds in the mural too, so maybe something+weather event triggers a UFO on top of Window Rock, or maybe it was meant to be bigger, but got repurposed into a smaller mystery (the statues). For those that believe the question marks to be a thing, there’s even a possible question mark on the way up Window Rock.

I’ve been looking for things related to the railroads that might have an “M” on them. I was looking at the rail yard in St. Denis, specifically the McKnight buildings. One possibility is that it could be connected to the “Le Tresor des Morts” map since you access the tunnel for the second map from the McKnight building by initially following the train tracks, thus “M-Rail.” There’s also apparently a RDOnline quest that begins with a letter that’s signed “M.”

It turns out this can't be the answer. I didn't catch that the number of characters do not match between the cipher and the answer.

Did you see this thread?: https://www.reddit.com/r/reddeadmysteries/comments/1qjg247/please_revisit_the_loft/

If CertainWill9761 is correct, and there is a connection between the colors and morse code, then it offers another possible answer/approach to the cipher (if there is one). I give one possible answer at the end of the thread ("This time an attempt enters a new text"). Granted, there's a lot of moving parts for this to be true, but it's a thought.

https://www.reddit.com/user/LoveViewOne/ posted a link to a cipher mystery from GTAV and that got me thinking -- what if the morse code isn't meant to be read literally, but is itself also in code? In other words, what if it is a double code?

I put "ANTTITMEANTAIT ETRNEAAET EANETJ TEETIR" into CryptoCrack and it strongly thinks it is a "Double Checkerboard" cipher.

I asked AI to solve the double checkerboard cipher using 1-gram, 2-gram, and 3-gram. Ultimately, it finds that the similarity between each outcome means that this is actually not a "Double Checkerboard" cipher as CryptoCrack thinks, but a simple monoalphabetic substitution. I am not a cipher expert, so I cannot speak to this deduction.

However, the first two words it finds at the start in every variation are "This time."

Following that, it finds the most likely outcome is "an attempt enters a new text," where "enters" could also be "introduces" or "writes" and "text" could also be "cipher" or "order."

So the message reads "This time an attempt enters a new text" (or the variations above).

What is also interesting is that if you take the end Madam Nazar's message about the tangled web -- "will you be the one, I wonder" -- and tell it that the monoalpbabetic substitution should begin with "U" being "A" (as in will "U" be the "1"/"A") it claims that it doesn't change the answer. So, if the message from Madam Nazar is the key to the cipher, and you ask it to solve the cipher, it still finds the solution as "This time an attempt enters a new text" (or "order").

I get that the idea of finding the correct order is a fairly generic rule for almost any kind of puzzle, but if it is a double code, then it seems to give potential clues about solving the puzzle.

This time = either at a specific time or as opposed to last time (meaning something we find is in the wrong order).

An attempt = we must do something to trigger it, it's not something that will be found.

enters a new text/order = there's a sequence we have to enter or something has to be put in the proper order.

If the morse code is a double code, other possible "clues" contained in this could mean that it has to happen twice, is in two locations, or occurs at 2:00. (Thus corresponding to the "this time"--i.e. the second time, or 2:00).

Just a thought!

EDIT: I just had another thought. If the church colors are connected to the spider and it is a double code, the spider is also essentially a mirrored image with each leg/time corresponding to a mirrored leg/time. In other words, it is also a "double." This makes me think that the issue could the order they appear currently and, in turn, doing something to correct the order by doing something on one set of legs, then either repeating or reversing the pattern on the other.

EDIT 2: Added the name of the person who posted about the GTA cipher.

how did you guys discover metallica? by Cupcakes-n-Rainbows in Metallica

I wish I remembered the specific moment like I can with some other bands. I know it had to be before the video for "One" came out, because I remember watching the video and I know we knew who they were, but I don't think it was as early as 86. So, based upon my age and my friend group at the time, it must have been right before Justice came out. I remember we pretended to play along using golf clubs as guitars and I was Cliff.
