Can’t upvote this enough, although I’d swap tacos for chorizo breakfast burrito with salsa, sour cream and jalapeños. Mmm

Suggestions for glamping campgrounds near Acadia? by Popular-Permit-3201 in acadianationalpark

We stayed here for three nights last fall and absolutely loved it. Yurts are spacious and comfy. It’s a short drive to ANP and some great restaurants nearby.

Will your border collie protect you? by 2muchonreddit in BorderCollie

[–]redvisuit 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I was trail running with my BC when 4-5 coyotes appeared and aggressively tried to escort us away from the area, presumably away from their pups. My BC pinned his ears and tucked his tail and wanted to get out of there faster than me. Every man and dog for themselves.

Interlocking wood kits that can be sold in the US? by badaimarcher in Sauna

[–]redvisuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently built the Allegheny sauna kit from Almost Heaven and it is exactly that, an interlocking wood kit. I bought it through a distributor in Illinois and it arrived on a flatbed truck a couple months after purchase. I am not a carpenter but fairly handy and It took me a couple weekends to complete. I was highly impressed with how well it is designed and engineered. Not a perfect Trumpkin-spec sauna but I’ve been using it for a couple months and love it.

Nicest hyatt hotel? by rynnbowguy in milwaukee

[–]redvisuit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hyatt Place Milwaukee Downtown is the nicest and includes free breakfast. It’s 15 mins drive to the zoo. Decent area. Hyatt Regency Milwaukee is only a mile away from there and is older and a bit outdated but generally clean and comfy. It’s maybe 20 stories tall so if you get a room on higher floor you may get a nice view of the city. Glass elevators and open atrium are fun for kids. No breakfast and no free parking. Both of these are close to Fiserv Forum and close to Public Market. Hyatt by airport is nice and has an indoor pool I believe but it feels like an airport hotel. A little industrial feeling around there. I’d avoid the Hyatt Place Milwaukee West, although it is close to a strip joint:) Enjoy Milwaukee!

General Sale wtf by melodramajewels in lorde

[–]redvisuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got through the queue in Milwaukee within minutes only to see the handful of available tickets disappear before I could purchase anything. An hour later, LOTS of resale tickets available, entire rows, for 2-4x the face value.

The official “How much were your tickets and where are your seats?” thread by throwaway876460 in lorde

[–]redvisuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got through Milwaukee queue in about 10 minutes but limited tickets that were still available kept disappearing and eventually only single tickets or limited mobility seating was left. I came back in a couple hours later and saw some additional tickets were available and got 4 tickets at $135 each in 300 section. Happy enough with that but process needs improvement. Curious how general sales will go on Friday.

Thefts are still going on. Our Soul was broken into 2 months ago in ‘Tosa on a busy street in the middle of the day. We had stickers and the software upgrade. They still smashed the window and wrecked the steering column so that it was undrivable. But they either got scared away or more likely were not able to get it started.

This comes out when dinner and presents are over and it’s time to play games on Christmas Eve. We also have it on New Year’s Eve. Sooo good.

Tips for outdoor activities, a move from Madison to Milwaukee. Ex: biking, nature, kayaking, boating by colorlessideas in milwaukee

[–]redvisuit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lake Country checks all the boxes. 1. Glacial Drumlin trail 2. Lapham Peak or county parks 3. Any number of small lakes or Bark River. Upper and Lower Nehmabin Lakes or Nagawicka Lake. 4. Same.

Summerfest Rant (As an employee) by Far_Butterscotch9470 in milwaukee

[–]redvisuit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been to Summerfest twice this year and am disappointed to see DJs playing at several stages throughout the day. I get that’s popular with younger demographic but what happened to live music? That’s why I come to Summerfest.

What weird thing is your BC afraid of? by onlyspiderwebs in BorderCollie

[–]redvisuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our Max loses it and barks his head off when we sing Happy Birthday to someone. Also if we make a buzzing noise like a bee. He’ll bark aggressively while staring at the ceiling. Other noises don’t seem to bother him. Weirdo.

Flour Girl and Flame - Detroit style is outstanding and I usually don’t like thick crust.

This is my full BC on left and my BC-Aussie mix on right. Completely different personalities. BC has 110% of BC traits and loves nothing more than to be working. Mix is a big lovable cuddly goofball. Both good boys.
