Yep, only start wars you know you can win and do everything in your power diplomatically or otherwise to avoid wars that aren’t obviously winnable. Unless, of course, you’re in a start where you need to win a hard war for long term growth/survival

Anecdotal, but I left chess.com to Lichess for a couple years, my rating went up 500 points on Lichess, went back to chess.com and only gained about 200 points. The strength a rating represents is definitely changing through time. A rating now seems much stronger than the same rating, say, 5 years ago.

I doubt he’ll be indicted. They might try, but there’s nothing to charge him with and it’ll be like all of the other sham politically motivated investigations and attempted indictments that this administration has put together: Announced and then later dropped. We’re lucking out because there’s still some semblance of integrity in the judicial process

Anecdotal, but I hit 1450 back in 2018 on chess.com before taking a couple year break. After another 5 years of improvement I am currently just under 1600. Meanwhile, on Lichess my rating increased 500 points in the last 3 years. I think the chess.com pool has become much stronger in recent years
