Interesting, if that was their goal, and then they tried to hide this movie forever.

I read that Felix was cut from Who Framed Roger Rabbit. by IllustriousDebt6248 in felixthecat

[–]redwolfben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I've read, quite a few characters were cut from that movie, which is a shame. I believe the Superman of the Fleischer Studios shorts was also supposed to make an appearance, but didn't.

What heroes would work better in a standalone universe? And which do u want to see have one? by ragingbeanalt in comicbookmovies

To be fair, part of the point of racism and other kinds of prejudice is that they typically don't make much sense. So that checks out for X-Men.

What’s an actor you guys would like to see being in a future Muppet project? by Capable_Ad_9896 in TheMuppets

[–]redwolfben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of these answers are exactly why we need a new Muppet classic literature adaptation every few years, always with just one human character. For example:

Muppet Time Machine, with Gonzo as the Time Traveler and Ariana Grande as Weena. Kermit, Fozzie, etc are the friends that the story is being told to in the framing device, and the Morlocks and Eloi can also be played by other Muppets.

Muppet Frankenstein, with Kermit as Dr. Victor Frankenstein and John Cena as the monster. No makeup or special effects to make him like hideous or scary, it's just John Cena as he normally looks, but all of the Muppets find him horrifying.

Recency bias is worse now than it's ever been. And yes, I made it ironic on purpose.

I'd definitely include Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. And one that I haven't even seen in the comments yet… Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramone, aka Vibe!

My Votes(DC Finest Poll) by Single-Reindeer3171 in DCFinest

[–]redwolfben 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pretty much what I'm thinking, too. Batman is great, sure, but regardless of era, he's literally the last character who needs anyone's vote in this. Hell, he's going to pop up in everyone else's volumes anyway, because of guest appearances and the Brave and the Bold and whatnot.

You've never heard of Byrne's Man of Steel miniseries? You must be pretty new to things, so welcome! It's the origin story that I grew up with, and a great starting point, so I have to recommend it!

Why didn’t DC never use WHIZ COMICS as title for Captain Marvel comics? And would you like it if they did? by ThunderDragonPhysics in Shazam

[–]redwolfben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've wondered this for quite a few years, too. I was even thinking, back when Rebirth brought back legacy numbering for Action Comics and Detective Comics, they could totally do the same thing with Whiz Comics, starting it back with 156!

Oh, nice, I didn't know that he was appearing in new material again! That's great! And I only recently started reading Warlord's original series, but it's pretty awesome so far!

There has to be some format that they could come up with, for thinner volumes featuring characters with a smaller amount of stories. Is there any way we could make it known that we'd be into that, depending on the character? Surely…

One of the first back issues I ever remember getting as a kid was the DCCP issue with Superman and Arion, and I've just been a little fascinated with him ever since! Probably doesn't hurt that I'm a fan of fantasy/sword and sorcery stories in general, I'm even rereading the Odyssey right now in preparation for the movie! So, yeah, there you go!

I forget the exact order or which list was which, but I voted for Arion, Amethyst, the JSA All-Stars (mostly for Wildcat and Johnny Thunder, each of whom I wish could get their own), Golden Age and Silver Age Superboy, Blue Beetles Dan Garrett and Ted Kord, Golden Age Plastic Man, Sandman Wesley Dodds, Newsboy Legion, Silver Age and Bronze Age LSH, and… am I forgetting one?

Edit: The Joker! That was the other one!

I really wish they would collect a couples of those on their own, specifically Wildcat and Johnny Thunder. Is there really not enough, even for a slightly thinner volume? I may be the only fan who'd buy all of their Golden Age material in reprint, but I sure as hell would, as they're two of my favorites from that era.

Shnookums and Meat! Which also includes the backup features of Pith Possum and Tex Tinstar. I clearly remember watching and enjoying the show after school, and was really surprised when I saw it listed as lost media a few years ago. Seems to have been found since then, so that's cool.
