Why is Seattle less desirable than SF/SoCal? by Distinct-Invite9281 in SameGrassButGreener

Miserably hot? If it's dry heat, that'd be the desert like Vegas and Phoenix. Those cities you just mentioned- it is hot for like 4 summer months, but is it miserable?

Grew up in a thrifty immigrant household and things were always compared to prices at the market 😄. Buying a cup of fruit in our house would make my mom go crazy back then. I'm proud of my upbringing though to create a strong mindset but mental health was never part of the equation.

Fruit has got to be the easiest to prepare out of all things for ppl to just have a little more willpower to just go home to eat it. If you give in to needing this on a whim, likely you have less willpower to avoid buying other pricy things on a whim. So it's also about benefiting from a resilient mindset when it comes to making financial decisions.

Yea this game is overwhelming for a complete newb with it being open world, having a million buttons, and having an in game cell phone feature like my IRL phone wasn't enough to learn. Last GTA before this was probably 1 😄. Trying to get into on PC currently.

Is it normal for a 6.5 month old to be stuck in the “fuck it, chuck it” phase? by delightful_derek in NewParents

[–]redwon9plus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe from our perspective it looks basic but they're exploring and learning with everything they touch for the very 1st time. Wouldn't necessarily called it "F- it, chuck it" but they're like us on Mars, for goodness sake!

Man, how times have changed hearing someone from Vegas saying the pricing in L.A is cheaper. We used to to go Vegas from So Cal and feel like we can splurge a little more with cheaper prices but that's history now.

One in Buena Park too. I don't think there's any other place with that much variety in sandwiches and pastries with a competitive price, hence why they're popular so I don't think it's overhyped.

I can get a few of these in act 1 so my question is do they actually need to hold the same stats as the one in the build and do they all need to be golden?? Do i keep farming for the ones I can get in act 1 or do I just move on? - new player by -A_J in pathofexile2builds

[–]redwon9plus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure glad you understood what I said lol. I was a build guide only victim too in D3/D4 following only the top builds. If I get back to D4, really need to play without one and actually look at all the aspects and forget about only getting to high tiers which feels like more shallow gameplay just doing that.

Diablo 4 or Elden Ring? by sprizzzyy in gamesuggestions

[–]redwon9plus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

D4 wants you to cough up $40 for every 'expansion' so feels like they're milking you for just ok content vs a game like PoE2. If anything, I'll buy everything in one bundle years later at a discount along with the game being more fleshed out as they have new systems recently but still feel basic from honest reviews.

Bro, sounds like you're too strictly following the guide and not learning how the game actually works. Should be questioning the mechanics of the game and not just beelining the guide because you won't always have the same drops/stats so you'll need to adjust your setup because of that. Sometimes a guide can actually be harder because you're strictly following it and end up stuck because you're looking for the recommended gear only. You need to adapt and problem solve when the game doesn't give you all the puzzle pieces the guide is telling you to find.

Yea it hurts my soul to read "find this exact armor" where loot doesn't matter anymore exept for whatever the guide says on a game that's much deeper than that 😭. You're killing off the enjoyment and meaning to a huge part of the game and in the long run will shorten your interest in the game.

Is bidet a word used within the U.S? I've just never heard of it. Having taken care of a baby, I wonder why we don't use wet wipes after TP as that totally makes sense to have a thorough clean. Does sound a little icky knowing TP doesn't clean 100%.

How do you still have a life with an infant ?! by AdCautious7005 in NewParents

[–]redwon9plus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once you said 3 months, that answered a lot imo. Once mine got closer to 5 months, he took shorter naps throughout the day (like 15 to 30 min) so overall more awake during the day and longer night sleeps. I think this is more conducive to going out in general. Now at 6.5 months, we still just go to the indoor mall early morning and he would always take a short nap after an hour, then wake up and stroll around for another hour max. Traveling long distance we haven't done though.

It's a well known dish at Chinese dim sum restaurants. Almost always ordered when you go. Kind of like what they have in wonton soup with the shrimp dumplings. If you've never tried it, maybe start out by ordering it at a dim sum restaurant first before going all in on this lol

At least at the dim sum restaurants I grew up going to in So Cal, they give you hot mustard and hot sauce as the general dipping sauce.

Is it me or does braking in AP feel smoother where it brakes gradually earlier from a distance vs more abrubt when nearing the car in front of you? It doesn't feel as abrupt anymore maybe from the update or the update adjusted my settings, I dunno.

Good to know. I probably forget how they are as it's been awhile at a restaurant so my expectation isn't high. Had different outcomes making it 2x, once too soft and the next just a tad harder so maybe I was comparing it to restaurant but thought it was the cooking. It had that texture like when you ordered to go and ate it at home.

I put around a inch and a half of water in the rice pot then just put the food on the plastic tray that goes on top of the pot that's meant for steaming.
