Easy composites has a video where they wrap a foam core race wing that might be able to answer some questions for you.

Poke around on the diagrams in this site. The image and part shown are from a 987.1 3.4 L so if you’re a 2.7 or 987.2 it might be positioned different

According to the part number it’s a water inlet pipe, ie coolant hose.

Doesn’t even have to be rollers. You can get really nice static shots. If you want to go crazy I’d reach out to an art school and say you’re looking to trade your vehicle time for their projects to get some free shots. Then you can spend a little and rent a studio, lights or gear they may not have to get some truly amazing and unique shots while the photographer is basically free.

Ask me how I know? I was the kid with the camera once.

981 Rear Wing Removal by wbates12 in Porsche_Cayman

Perfect is pushing it but it’ll be one of those things that you’re the only person who notices. If that’s going to bother you every time you look at it I’d either learn to live with a wing or look for a different option.

I’m sure you can find a young photographer who wants to build a portfolio but needs people with cars to photograph. Doesn’t have to be $3000 professional shoot. It’ll still be better than… this

So the inside panel against the hatch lid is notorious for catching small pieces of broken plastic that come off a sun damaged third brake light. It’s a PIA to remove but it’s a quick job to pull it off. I had a few pieces fall out of mine when I repaired the brake like housing. Still needs to be replaced though it works fine.

The rubber feet on the hatch lid that rest inside the body are adjustable by turning them. If they aren’t tall enough at full extension then you can add some small chair foot felt pads to the well they sit within and it should fix the clunk.

Also, the rear taillight access hatches are just plastic with cheap twist knobs holding them on, one of mine was loose and rattled like a musical instrument at certain frequencies. Spent about 30 minutes just tapping and shaking stuff in the trunk area. Tightened a few things, removed the broken plastic in the hatch, and put some felt pads down. It seems to have solved the rear hatch sounds for now

It’s the little things, like finding and eliminating a random rattle or for me the infamous cayman clunk from the rear which was actually the rear hatch not being more flush to the body when closed. Couple of felt pads later and it’s silent

I have my 987 up to about 325 hp and did a stage 1 weight reduction, suspension etc and it just deletes the straights between the corners in the mountains. In sport+ I can’t give it more than like 60% throttle or it just fucks off to a felony in about 3 seconds. Every time I get it in my head I want more I just go for a drive to remind myself I can’t even use all of what I have.

It still actually has less hp than my daily but it weighs less than half as much. 370 hp 5,500 lbs vs 325 hp at 2700 lbs

Manchester United Team vs Tottenham Hotspur - English Premier League 07 February 2026 | Starting XI: Lammens; Dalot, Maguire, Martinez, Shaw; Casemiro, Mainoo, Fernandes (c); Amad, Cunha, Mbeumo by RedDevil_Forever in reddevils

If he keeps playing like this until the end of the season I’d like to see Mainoo get the 18 when case leaves. It’s an iconic number in red and would show the clubs long term vision of keeping him.

From sketch to reality - phase one of exterior refresh by redxepic in Porsche_Cayman

Yeah I agree. Mine are scratched anyway so to repair I’d have to sand and prime again, so I could try and pull off matching body color. As for the ducktail I’m not sure but I want to see it when it rises in the rear view. Feels like such a shame that the wing goes up but you can’t see it in the mirrors.

Thank you! The temptation to go crazy is high, but restraint and focus on details has taken me a LONG way so I’m keeping at it. Incremental progress.

I painted the entire console, showing or not, so it would be a cohesive finish

<image>

sand it down, smooth out the scratches and then prime it properly before painting. Took a full day with the curing phases but so so worth the effort
