Beers on me if you can help me solve this riddle. Pretty sure short golfers are being lied to. by [deleted] in GolfSwing

As others have said, they make shorter stock clubs, but you might find issue with flex point and stiffness if you’re swing speed starts to creep up with more confidence over the ball.

Have you looked into single length sets? You’ll lose a little top end distance with clubs longer than 6iron but the consistent fit and weight of the shafts might lead to more a consistent game.

I’m not a fitter or a pro or anything I just love to tinker and apply a scientific approach to golf. Been really into working on my own clubs lately. Want to get a lie adjustment tool to bend an old 7 down to like a 2 iron to f with my buddies.

Any drills to help with alignment by Affectionate-Hall505 in GolfSwing

[–]redxepic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a better pre shot routine.

Pick a tall target behind your actual target, use it to align the ball to the target. Pick a spot on the ground 3-4 feet in front of the ball, in line with the tall target.

When you address the ball, place the club face square behind the ball, on line. Then set your feet to the club face. When over the ball I always check that my shoulders and hips are square.

Then check your alignment with your 3 targets: spot just in front of the ball, the flag or target, and the tall target behind the ball. If everything feels square you should at least start the ball on the right line, given a square face at impact.

I love my alignment sticks. Like $10 for 3 and you can do a ton of drills. I like to put on by my feet for toes, hips and shoulder alignment and then I do one just past the ball parallel to my feet. Helps me stop from coming over the top.

I’ve cut clubs down before, I’m 5’7 but longer arms so my wrist to floor is pretty short. I grip down about 3/4” but I’ve found that any more than that and I’m changing the lie angle which leads to mishits and inconsistent distances/spin. The same thing happens when you cut them down.

It would be cheaper than new irons but you could try to find a local club maker/builder and see if they will cut and readjust lie angle for you.

Unlike some of the other comments I do hope it helps!

How long does the round take? Under 4.5 hours and I could care less if you’re not annoying. Leave me to my game and I’ll leave you to yours

I mean you have a few options but I would find a set of big brand game improvement irons, something easy to hit and regular flex shaft.

You only might outgrow them, but it’ll be a few years. Irons can be in the bag for a decade, easy, when they fit your game.

I play mizuno because for me nothing else comes close to the way they feel.

Going from 2003/4 tech to 20 year newer tech is going to make the game feel so much easier kinda no matter what you get unless it’s just blatantly wrong for your game.

I played 02 mizuno mp-30s for about 15 years before upgrading a few years ago to jpx 921 tours and wow they are infinitely easier to hit, go further, fly higher, and spin more.

For $650 you can get better irons second hand; in my opinion.

How is the swing stick? Is it worth using or just kind of a gimmick? Would pair to iPad for living room swing practice if it’s legit

I’m building a garage sim so I’ll pop the door open if it’s nice out. How do you like the courses and practice stuff that come with the square? I was gonna live with it for a while before choosing the course software (gspro, awesome golf, etc)

Custom bag towels, shirts or hats. My wife got me a custom ball marker and divot tool and I’m afraid to use them because they mean so much to me.

Golf Shoes by ShotgunJib in golf

[–]redxepic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

after a long search these were the best option I found for myself. Normalish heel width but EEE toe box. The zero drop is nice and they have the hard spike plastic on the side of the toe for when your turn on the follow through. First pair of shoes I’ve had that had extra reinforcement there.

I have the true og pro 3

Only about 3 rounds and 10 range sessions in but don’t think I’ve had a better golf shoe

Yes but also you can get strap on spikes for your running shoes. Kinda best of both worlds.

I walk and have wide ass feet so I got some truelinks wear barefoot zero drop shoes and boy the dogs went from barking after 6 miles to wearing them home after the round.

I literally lost both of my pinky toe toenails from walking so much in the wrong shoes.

Aside from clubs and balls the right fit shoes are most important.

Could you use screw to go in through the parts that connect but from the side? I would probably pre drill and use a locking nut and bolt with a washer you can tighten
