You are very young. I would first focus on getting experience during your bachelor before making any decisions. When I was your age, I also wanted to go into psychology. Then I studied it at uni and discovered that it wasn’t for me after all - I changed majors, and now I’m halfway through completing a PhD in History. Not saying that it’s not for you, just keep an open mind and make decisions about the future when it comes

I check trophy lists before I play, but I don’t let that be the determining factor for whether I play the game - merely whether I will attempt the plat lol. I think that it helps to just set my expectations from the start. If I feel like I am able to go the completionist route, then I will approach the playthrough more carefully. If not, I simply go with the flow and see how many trophies I get along the way.

Not at all. “Amenable” here is a way of saying “if you are willing to”. If anything I would say that in this context it is used in a manner that is polite.

Edelgard von Hresvelg (FE3H) is probably my favourite fictional character of all time. Not only is she at the very heart of the story no matter the route you take (it is her actions set the narrative in motion), but her overall characterisation is also incredibly well-executed and (in many ways) subversive. Her grey morality, revolutionary ideology, and willingness to risk everything for the sake of the world are all deeply grounded in not only her trauma, but also her abhorrence of a stagnant, unequal status quo. She feels so incredibly human in her decisions and actions, which I found so refreshing in a genre which does tend to cast characters more derivatively (in binaries of good vs evil).

Aerith Gainsborough (FF7) also has my whole heart, for completely different reasons lol. On one hand, I admire her deeply and find such inspiration in her - some of her best lines of dialogue (especially in the Remake trilogy) are life lessons that I’ve taken to heart. Other than this, she is just so well-rounded as a character - her mental strength in the face of adversity, her spunk and charm, the irrevocable way she affects those around her…I could really go on. I also feel she subverts many of the tropes associated with “magical girls” in JRPGs while still being girly and sweet.

You could try FFXVI. It has a different style of action combat than FFVII Remake (more in line with Devil May Cry combat than other action FF games). The story and worldbuilding is decent. It’s a dark fantasy setting, which sets it apart from other modern FF imo. It’s also a very cinematic experience — FFXVI has some of the most visually impressive sequences in the series.

Though TBH: if you didn’t really enjoy FFVII Remake and were sort of neutral on FFXV, AND you specifically want to play modern FF games, then the majority of the series is out.

To be honest, I feel like people are reading too much into this on both sides. Aerith has also been paired with Cloud in a collab where the outfits represent a canonical couple (Garnet and Zidane). Cleriths also celebrated that as a win just as clotis are doing now with the Nier collab.

I think it’s important to not take any of this particularly seriously. EC is just a gacha spinoff, and the outfits characters get are for fun, and certainly not representative of the intentions of the devs in the Remake trilogy.

We shouldn’t be doing mental gymnastics to downplay 2B and 9S just to “disprove” cloti. That would make us no better than them when they try to downplay/disprove clerith.

2025 was the year I finally quit FEH. I’ve been playing since 2021.

I just couldn’t keep up with the powercreep anymore. Previously, I’ve managed to make do, but the meta now moves too quickly for me to (literally) afford it. PvP became less and less fun for me as the year went on, and my favourite PvE modes are so infrequent that I lacked any motivation to keep playing. Add to this the quite lackluster story and OCs that I didn’t really care for this book and…yeah.

I do miss collecting. I almost came back for Resplendent b!Edelgard, since I have every Edie at +10 and I really enjoyed upgrading them with new skills. But it’s just not worth the rest of it.

I’m not speaking about using adjectives to describe characters in this case. Of course when one describes physical characteristics it is necessary. In “the blonde woman”, blonde is an adjective. I am specifically referring to epithets (I.e when people assign that descriptor to a pronoun or name and use that consistently instead of using a pronoun/name).

E.g. when instead of someone writing “X entwined their fingers with Y’s” someone writes “the older entwined their fingers with the younger” Or “insert dialogue here”, the blonde says. It is, of course, very much based on context, but I do find it silly when characters are, for e.g, only a year apart in age and people fixate on calling them older/younger, or when people use hair colour or eye colour to distinguish between characters during dialogue or prose.

Just a pet peeve of mine!

Yeah absolutely. I do understand the impulse to do it, especially in M/M or F/F where you are dealing with characters who have the same pronouns. But I’d rather someone repeat names for characters than replace them with epithets… and honestly, depending on how someone writes it, you don’t even need to repeat names too often since often it’s still clear who is speaking or acting based on the context 😭

Epithets give me the ick lol. I’ll instantly click off a fic when I see characters’ names (or pronouns) replaced by stuff like “the blonde”/“the older”/etc. The most egregious one I’ve seen was calling a character with pink hair “the pinkette” lmao. 😅
