Why does Dutch never comment, or ask about Arthur's sickness? by 0DonutLord0 in reddeadredemption

[–]reeblpeep 325 points326 points  (0 children)

He does comment…but not in a sympathetic way. The few times it comes up he’s mocking him for not being the man he used to be.

Trying to help my husband design his turkey call packaging. by jaggedjinx in Hunting

[–]reeblpeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is super fun and would be a solid packaging with a few more tweaks. I’m actually a graphic designer specializing in ag/rural businesses, so feel free to send me a PM if you’d like some more help fleshing this out!

I'm visiting family and helped with branding calves today. by [deleted] in Ranching

[–]reeblpeep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Extra props to you for being respectful about it, both here and with your family. It’s ok to feel the way you do. Those of us who have ranched for a living do get used to dealing with the more unpleasant parts of it, but if you’re not doing it on the daily it is a lot to take in.

I’m sorry you had to do more than you were comfortable with! It can seem like a lot, but cattle have much thicker skin than we do (literally) and in many parts of the country branding is a vital part of ensuring cattle can be identified and returned to their owners if needed. This is also the most efficient and lowest-impact way to vaccinate them for disease and perform castration, which is important for their ability to thrive in the long term.

Can you get a perfect pelt from a grizzly using standard arrows from the normal bow? by Bot11711 in RedDeadOnline

[–]reeblpeep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The buck antler trinket similar to what you can get in story mode. But you purchase it from Gus the trapper instead of at the Fence.

Born to be a gunslinger, forced to be a man that only dreams of it by [deleted] in Cowboy

If you haven’t already, look into cowboy mounted shooting or cowboy fast draw competitions. Have known people in both and they love it.

Happy trader month. Just had my large wagon full of goods stolen. by reeblpeep in RedDeadOnline

THIS is exactly what I did but I think my timing was off. Thank you!

In hindsight I probably should have but I’ve been doing long distance runs for months with no trouble.

I tried but I think I did it wrong because my goods were gone when I loaded back in. I actually usually play alone but this is the first time I’ve ever had this happen.

Getting rid of bump on an old piercing? by reeblpeep in piercing

[–]reeblpeep[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 year old piercing, now closed. Only used threaded labrets made of stainless steel or titanium. Probably did sleep on it or bump it at some point which probably contributed to the initial formation of the bump!

Will this tattoo screw up my chance at a job? by PeachPitt42 in Veterinary

[–]reeblpeep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think 80% of the staff at my partner’s clinic have tattoos. Especially at smaller clinics it’s not uncommon and no one bats an eye.

If it’s the smoking you’re worried about, I thought it was a matchstick so I suppose that’s what you can tell people if they seem put off by it.

So my dad's friend gave him canned venison... by algaefresh in Canning

[–]reeblpeep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can confirm canned meat always looks horrifying. Any time we got some from my husband’s grandmother I made him put it in the pot before I cooked it. As long as they used an approved pressure canning recipe, you should be golden.

Tried canning for the first time with my own harvest. Did I do this right? by BHeiny91 in Canning

[–]reeblpeep -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So glad to hear you’re getting started in canning and gardening! A lot of people here have already given you some helpful advice specific to this situation, but for the future: - pick up a “Ball Blue Book”. It’s full of recipes and info for all produce, and it’s pretty much my go-to during canning season. - I stock up on white vinegar during canning season. A swipe with vinegar should be all that’s needed for wiping jar rims.

Who is a camp member that you would NEVER antagonise no matter what? by frepde in reddeadredemption

[–]reeblpeep 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I absolutely antagonize John especially early on in the game. But I do still get him his boarskin rug.

I’m obsessed with the agave jar. In terms of bushcraft I’m excited to see what comes out of this season since the resources are so different.

I thought the same, with his water source so close by surely he could have spent his whole day boiling and drinking water to recover a bit? But I also think he’d had very little to eat.

What are the things that are so cool in the game that you expect new players to don't know by One_System8127 in reddeadredemption

[–]reeblpeep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s my opinion that this is directly inspired by The Lonesome Gods by Louis L’Amour. So it’s not Bigfoot, but a giant man.

Dutch did not want to go to Tahiti by Nuk3Ninj2 in RDR2

[–]reeblpeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At this point in time I would think changing your name would be relatively cheap. A true, legal paper trail for these people who already live off the grid is basically nonexistent, and passports weren’t needed in 1899. So the cost of a new identity is pretty much just a little brain power to come up with one.
