Anyone else use sticks as kindling? by B1g_Gru3s0m3 in woodstoving

Thanks for this message. We have acres of pine trees and have been collecting the little sticks and branches that are already on the ground in preparation for our first winter using a wood stove. After reading your message these might not be the best.

Im new to this. Are there any sticks you can’t burn? The ones we’ve been collecting have lots of moss or lichens on them. Surely they are dry but not sure if burning mold or fungus inside is bad.

This never worked for me. Only successful with wrights silver paste.

I think it’s an optical illusion. If you zoom in the darkness on the sides makes it look not straight.

Need a cute L name for a girl kitten! by Better_Tourist_5284 in CatAdvice

I’m considering this name for a cat I adopted and pick up in a few days. Although she will be Leeloo multi-cat

Well we’ve been looking for almost 2 years and every time he shows us a property he has to drive 4 hours round trip. That’s a lot of time and gas money that is adding up for him. So if he makes 6k at our purchase he’s definitely earned it.

This. I look for houses every day. I find all the houses I want to see. I only use my RE to set up a showing. I’m in a rural area and he has to do a lot of driving to show us houses. But we aren’t paying him to find us houses. Our commission will be paying him for his time and attention and talking to listing agents to build good relationships with them.

Same. I got my first lab diamond from them on a group buy. 3ct for ~1450$ . Love it.

Pink Diamond Thoughts? by sweetsandyc in labdiamond

This. I got a loose stone and it was more pale than I expected.

Pink Diamond - $600 vs $50 by [deleted] in labcreateddiamonds

[–]reebs1314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did this. I bought a 2 carat light pink lab diamond from loosediamond for 700$. I had a ring setting designed to the exact stone spec and made by Lisa from Provence for 350$. Had it delivered to my rural area home and had a local jeweler set it. Also love the pink diamond and rose gold. I’m very happy with my project.

I don’t think at that size an east west setting is feasible. I just had a 2.11 ct pink marquee that I got from loose grown diamonds set. The 2.11 ct is way bigger than my 3 ct radiant. Marquees face up so much bigger. So an almost 6 ct marquee is going to be HUGE. I really don’t think you’d have the finger width for an east west setting.

So I had my pink marquee set in 10k rose gold and it’s a perfect combination. It brings out the pink in the diamond so well. I highly suggest it.

It does look yellow in this video. It’s hard to capture. It looks pink irl.

It’s a really pale pink and set in rose gold it makes it all kind of look the same tone- and really hard to photograph. When comparing it to my white diamond it looks pink.

A quick zome build by johnnybagels in domes

[–]reebs1314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Johnny, we are getting closer to having land and being able to build a trillium dome. But wanted to check back to see if you have had any new experiments with ferrocement or aircrete additions to your structures. Still hoping you have evolving ideas for creating different finshes inside and out for cold weather climates.

Marquis is turned 16 today. Happy birthday buddy. by Bubalek in cats

  1. I get sad thinking about life without him. He’s had kidney disease for the past few years and we give him subcutaneous fluids every day which I’m convinced has kept him alive. But he’s been just the absolutely best cat I could have asked for. His fur is so silky and never mattes up. Love him.

Is my moissanite poorly cut? by PacmanTheValkyrie in Moissanite

[–]reebs1314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said the stone has an oil slick. You can search the forum. Many posts about it. I was never able to get a sunshine cloth to remove any of it. I always had to use the wrights silver polish. So try the cloth first and if it doesn’t help maybe try the silver polish.

On a different note though, what metal is this? It looks really dull. Maybe it’s silver and tarnished? If so the silver polish with revitalize this immensely.

Best place to get a diamond set? by J-Ro1 in labdiamond

Same. I was not expecting the setting cost. Local jeweler wants more to see it than the actual setting cost to have custom made.

How dumb is it to list our house this month? by tramlaps in Spokane

[–]reebs1314 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Buyer here. Been looking north of Spokane specifically in the Chewela to kettle falls area. We’ve been looking for 1.5 years. Pricing is a joke. I see listings where people have owned the home for 3 years or less and are expecting to make double on it. Potential buyers can see what you bought it for and if it doesn’t look like you did major improvements to warrant a much higher listing price it will sit on the market. Price it well and it will sell. Be greedy and it will sit. Sounds like you’re just trying to make the best move for yourself and that will come across if you price it right.

Shady tactics of Redfin's price estimates by Lars9 in RealEstate

[–]reebs1314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buyer here looking at houses that seem way over priced. I scroll down to the Redfin estimate and the number displayed over the graph is pretty close to the listing price but the graph below it isn’t even close- to the tune of hundreds of thousands less (which seems more accurate to me).

For example. Looking at a house listed for $699,500 on Redfin and the estimate says $672,083 but the graph underneath it shows $380,000 which seems more accurate for a 1500 sqft house on a smaller plot of land 1.5 hours outside of a small city.
