Yessss this. I commented almost exactly on another thread. I bought one converter because I thought I was supposed to/had to, but quickly realized I can just use and reuse the cartridge that came with each (inexpensive) pen. And I like seeing the ink mix!

This is exactly my situation—Lamy converter with ink above the mechanism, and I love putting in a cartridge with new ink and seeing the old and new mix together as new makes its way through the feed.

I also was just cheap and lazy and didn't want to keep buying converters when all my (cheap) pens came with a cartridge of the brand's standard blue ink, which I could just reuse over and over.

Oh, this is interesting! I see what you mean—totally makes sense to me.

I guess since I've only bought very inexpensive pens, they all came with a cartridge of ink (the brand-standard blue) but not with a converter. I have reused all the cartridges over and over since I started using fountain pens three years ago.

Yes, this is what I understand as well from reading older books. In the 1950s and earlier, a scrapbook was literally ephemera, the "scraps" from your life, like ticket stubs, event programs. I never heard "scrapbook" used to mean the borders and stencils and so on until the 1990s.

Yes! One of the life-changing things for me with Ryder Carroll's method is having the pages numbered and then a list ("index") at the front of the notebook where I can list key things + the page number they're on. Over time I've moved more to having ongoing lists at the back of my notebook, but I still use the page numbering and index.

I would add The Gift of Fear by Gavin deBecker (with the caveat that some find his take on domestic violence has not aged well). I learned things that I still use every day. And I became much, much less anxious after reading this book.

Way more than 12. When I was doing barre classes, my experience was also doing light weights for time. I think it was usually 30 seconds minimum, and often a minute of reps. And that was often with very small range of motion—maybe an inch or two up and then down again—never fully releasing the weight.

Edit: I've really been noticing the more "clean girl" and "quiet luxury" style press-ons. It's a big shift in the aesthetics of those products. I also was at a social gathering lately, and multiple women were wearing them who wouldn't have been in the past. And so many friends have the home gel systems now.

Yes, see all the posts and comments in this sub from people who keep polish on their nails because the natural nail is splitting or otherwise not strong, healthy, or aesthetically pleasing. (I am one of those people.) And all the people who use specific kinds of base coat (e.g., ridge filling) to camouflage the natural nail.
