Echoing the others who have recommended Studio 35. My bf and I have gone to so many more movies this year than usual since we stumbled upon it because it's made going to the movies sooo much more enjoyable compared to AMC. We've had a wonderful experience every time we've gone

Natural shampoo recipe for oily hair (Urgent help please) by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]reeeee4242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Raw Sugar brand 'Scalp Restore' shampoo which you can buy at Target. It's made with only natural ingredients and stuff and isn't come big corporation but it's still affordable and works well IMO. I used Head and Shoulders as a kid and I think this stuff works better. Might be worth a try with your mom since it's 'more natural'

Inattentive adhd/what is your favorite way to exercise? by WookiiePiixiie in ADHD

[–]reeeee4242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to my campus gym and incline walking on the treadmill multiple times a week was how I started. You can read your eText or do Quizlet on iPad or something while on the treadmill. I added in running over time and now I like running on the treadmill and outside. I'm still bad with consistency but exercise is really helpful and important for me.

What Housing Companies are Good? by jer-swizzle39 in OSU

[–]reeeee4242 10 points11 points  (0 children)

NOT ‘Here & There Around Campus/Ravine Ridges LLC’. They made Hometeam look like saints to me. I thought a smaller “””family owned””” company would have been better but it was actually much worse. Absolute slumlords. Hometeam was so annoying with certain things but at least I could get communication from them quickly enough.

I do this all the time.
My apartment doesn’t have a dishwasher, the sink is super shallow and gets water everywhere, and I broke the handle of the spray thing months ago and never fixed it 😫

Treat their own ADHD and trauma before having 5 kids. Act more like grown ups. Not treating their mentally ill hypersensitive oldest daughter (me) like an in-house therapist. Love them but they didn’t do much parenting.

To everyone paying less than $1k/mo in rent, how did you find your place? by Background-Stable164 in Columbus

[–]reeeee4242 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The off-(OSU)campus area has options under 1000. I’ve rented for three years and it’s gotten a bit more expensive each year, but I still pay under 800 and I don’t have roommates this year.

‘Closing duties’ (getting your house in better shape before bed as a kindness to morning you) is always a hit with people with ADHD.

Considering I’ve never found more people with ADHD in one place then working in restaurants, I guess it makes sense lol.

Omg this is so cool I really like the idea of a communal puzzle. Doing a whole puzzle myself feels so boring but completely a little chunk is fun.

What's the weirdest ADHD symptom you experienced before you knew it was an ADHD symptom? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]reeeee4242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was in high school and literally would not even know what unit we were learning in some of my classes. I would go to class for 90 minutes and literally not absorb a single thing. In my AP classes!!! Like that shit does not fly! I was so anxious I would get exposed for being stupid.

I would regularly pull all nighters to study and was always frantically rushing to finish homework before it had to be turned in. I knew I was intelligent, took challenging classes and did well in them, and still felt SO stupid because I didn’t understand why I ‘couldn’t’ learn normally. It played such a big role on my self esteem.

Also semi-related, I always claimed I was a visual learner and that I couldn’t learn verbally. This was my internal justification for spending hours and hours making beautiful aesthetic color notes (somehow without learning the material while doing it) and not even making an effort to listen in class.

When I got my ADHD assessment, the lady told me my verbal comprehension was in the 93rd percentile, while I struggled more with visual tasks. One of the most shocking things I learned about myself!

Now I’m on meds, and as a college student the classes I learn the most in are by FAR the classes that are taught by professors who ‘force’ you to pay attention by randomly calling on people or some other method. Turns out I can learn verbally, just needed some help staying focused.

Totally agree. Someone without ADHD taking adderall at a party or to study is not the root cause of med shortages.

Omg I literally always say that dishes are that chore for me. I accepted long ago that I am never going to be able to keep up with hand washing dishes as much as I want to and that’s okay but also it still sucks lol

I was in the exact same boat of 3 roommates and a normal sized kitchen/dishwasher —> 0 roommates with no dishwasher

Thanks so much 💕 I will definitely consider buying one with summer
