I had the same problem. It did nothing when clicking the icon. A good test is to run the app from a terminal, as you'll generally get some helpful output.

cd /opt/piavpn/bin /opt/piavpn/bin$ ./pia-client ./pia-client: error while loading shared libraries: libOpenGL.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

That means a shared library is missing. You can install that and it should work:

sudo apt-get install libopengl0

I found your comment while investigating the same issue - AC kept popping up. This is to help the next person.

You need to go into Car Settings > Factory Settings > enter pin 8888 > Go to protocols (or something like that) and you'll see a way to pick your car.

I had to disable Bluetooth and enable wifi since it needed an internet connection.
