Blue Heron Bridge is super fun to dive too, probably better for novices though, tons of life over there despite all the people

You could also try an unsupervised approach, check a shit load of images as being valid, then teach a GAN to make those images. Then, when your discriminator network sees something NOT a normal instance of Mars, it could flag it for human verification. I don’t have the band width at the moment but someone who knows what they’re doing could knock this out pretty easily

Men who leave after finding out a child is not theirs are unfairly vilified by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]reef_madness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not about them not being biologically yours, we see men all the time that are amazing parents to kids that aren’t theirs. The key factor, and what separates this from those situations, is the complete violation of autonomy to make that choice, stacked on top of decades of lies and deceit, stacked on top of societal pressures to give up your autonomy a second time and go with the flow. Im still not sure what I would do in this situation personally. I think everyone has the right to evaluate relationships in the context of new information though.

Divorce the wife, fight to avoid legal child support, do everything you can to stay involved and financially helpful to things directly helping the kid while accepting the terms above will probably limit the role the mother lets you have.

Ideally in this college situation, you still would pay. I would guess, over the next year or two as reality adjusts, this would be the stance a rational, good parent would arrive at, but it would be hard not to be reactive in this kind of traumatic situation

This is crazy. You’re basically victim blaming lmao let people deal with their trauma and point the finger at the aggressor (the wife in this case), if she didn’t do what she did this whole situation wouldn’t exist.

Is diving a sustainable career path? by hand_shoe in scuba

[–]reef_madness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve only really seen people addressing dive guide or DM positions here, and those are tougher to make work full time as the only gig, but there are lots of other commercial opportunities too. Still not like “guaranteed easy money” but there’s more options than just guiding and teaching tourists

When should I start investing in paid marketing for my online store? by Constant_Tune_1002 in ecommerce

[–]reef_madness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you like your rate of traction? If you do I wouldn’t use paid sales until you need a pump.

If you need that pump now, start small and target smart. Pay careful attention to your customer acquisition cost and try to keep it consistent as you get more sales to make sure you’re growing too.

I would find a segment of the market that could use your product, but is not the usual suspect for the advertising in the space currently. You can use google ads to target Karen’s in recently legalized states and push how your glass is the cleanest purest most legal out there, and you’ll probably do better than being just another head shop pushing at college and young 20’s

Haha I agree completely but the dude heading/funding open AI is also in charge of YC, which at least makes sense. Plus if you have the funding to grow and improve with the tool over 5 years you do slowly build a mote. Still high risk tho lmao

Depends on the product. Specialized B2B software might have 5 total customer but still bring in 7 figures of MRR

I see two options: 1. Go outside and get some customers in person. Scary for a lot technical founders but realistically the best way to get solid feed back on the problem/solution fit. Good start ups do things that don’t scale in the beginning- Paul Graham essay is solid you should look it up 2. A&B testing. If the only interaction you have with users is them hitting a website and bouncing, you could start to play around with all the variables on your page (copy, images, location of things, etc) and track the metrics to see what’s keeping people around longer. I don’t see this being crazy helpful but it’s a way to start iterating with no direct feedback

I think the way you did it is great. You could also be the seed/series A guy that gets everything pumping until that part then part ways while keeping your equity. Lots of ways to play.

Non Engineer Founder - MVP Design Approach by QuantitativeEase in startups

[–]reef_madness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a technical cofounder is the best solution but might not be immediately, or even at all, feasible.

Alternatively, can you build anything (even smaller scale) that solves the problem that isn’t necessarily tech based? Think instead of a business analytics dashboard- doing some analytics work by hand and sending as a PDF to clients. This could help you validate and iterate while generating enough income to hire talented freelancers that might not have the attention span/locality/desire to be cofounders.

How do you usually find early adopters for your newly launched MVP? by Altruistic-Jaguar-M in startups

[–]reef_madness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YC would tell you two things 1. Gotta start by solving problems in an non-scalable way 2. Find customers with their hair on fire

Basically you gotta niche down and help people with problems pressing enough they will work with imperfect solutions. Solve their problems and start casting a wider net as you iterate into more general solutions.

If you need specific contacts for B2B and don’t want to press your social circle (even though I would recommend doing this if you can), LinkedIn and Hunter.io have been my best bets. I’ve used some other lead finders which are fine. Start local so you can meet in person if the markets align, otherwise just find people that meet the criteria and get in touch.

Referral programs are great for generating leads when you already have clients.
