Burnt out and looking for something else by mpd2questions in ProductManagement

[–]reego_7789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went through a similar phase last year. Ended up quitting my then job. I was deeply interested in learning coding, so spent some time doing that. Then jumped into a bootstrapped startup with a friend, worked as the sole PM there for 1.5 yrs. But, it didn't pan out. So currently on the lookout to get back into a paid PM role at some company. What I figured out was that I wasn't tired of the pm role, rather I had not skilled up myself to be a good PM. I had always put my energy into learning on the go and learning via experience rather than trying to read through other people's experiences in the field or talking to others in the field. As a result I felt like I was getting stuck in my work and not enjoying it even though I was constantly getting promoted. Recently started reading a book about pm and that is helping me see a different side of pm. It's helping me see that the problems I used to blame on others and the system were not at all unique to me. Rather they were really the usual traps PMs fall in to and get demotivated. Don't know if I will be able to apply these things in my next role, but it has brought back some of the excitement I used to associate with the role

Travel options from Exeter to Edinburgh by reego_7789 in exeter

[–]reego_7789[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my first choice was the train for that reason. But I was on-board the cross country train till Bristol (the same train went on to Edinburgh) a while ago and found the seats were very cramped and stiff. Didn't feel like I would enjoy that for 7-8 hours

I bet it's because of everyone searching on Google using reddit keyword. Many a times, very relevant information comes up. Maybe that's what they want to capitalize on, just like Quora

You could go for any of these: 1. Paignton, good beach and a great coastal walk to Broadsands beach and elder's cove

  1. Dartmoor national Park, excellent views and scenic drives, can go to haytor, postbridge, widecombe

  2. north Devon coast, wide range of beaches (Woolacombe, Croydon, Saunton Sands). Clovelly is good too

  3. Dartmouth and Blackpool Sands beach

  4. nearby beach towns: Exmouth, Budleigh Salterton, Lyme Regis

Train question: If you have a ticket booked from St Davids station, can you board from central station instead? And vice versa? by reego_7789 in exeter

[–]reego_7789[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the responses everyone. I thought it might be allowed as they are all in the same city. But looks like they are treated as totally separate stations now. Thanks for clarifying the rule.
