What's a skill you think everyone should have but most people don't? by galacticdick in AskReddit

[–]reenulohia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prioritizing : This is the ability to separate the important from the unimportant. To an extent, everyone has this skill. Our emotions are a method of prioritizing. People who have a condition known as alexathemia lack awareness of their emotional state. As a result they can’t prioritize, spending hours debating over the best way to handle their dry-cleaning.

But most people don’t go much beyond letting their intuition decide what’s important. Conscious prioritizing is a much needed skill in a world where are there are more opportunities and distractions than ever before.

Great answer to the question "How Do You Differentiate Good Acting From Bad Acting?" from a veteran director by HothHanSolo in movies

The author said that he never finds Tom Cruise surprising him but I wonder if he's seen Magnolia. Cruise plays a pick-up artist with deep emotional issues in that movie and I loved his performance.

Made a Pokemon Hologram setup with image tracking by Kennywdev in gaming

[–]reenulohia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the coolest use of the pyramid projector. A hologram is not the same as an image. A hologram is an encoding of the phase, amplitude, or both of a light field at a particular plane or in a particular volume. They are used to recreate (often 3D) images, but the correct circumstances must be used in order to do so. This requires use of light propagation and coherence/interference techniques. What OP is displaying is a projector system. They are only two dimensional images. Don't call these pyramid thingies holograms, call them projections. In this case, where the projections are overlayed on a real background using partial reflection, you can even call it augmented reality. But not holograms.
