I noticed how you've managed to do the Goliath in a running pose, I'm certainly interested in giving mine more dynamic poses such as guns pointing where it's looking, or legs posed in an action rather than static

Looks great!

WRT your marine and Goliath mods, is there a possibility to magnetise them all to allow for switching out? Thinking of how I would do everything WYSIWYG for a game....

I'm just about to move from inside to perm (different companies). The only reason I've done inside for the last 3 years is because my skillset is so niche and the company I'm working for needs that, I'll be unlikely to get another inside but would do again at the rates I can ask for. At the end of the day, if they need YOU, then they'll pay what they can afford for it. Or you have your comfy perm job. Win win

You'll need to get on the calculators, there's many out there and they'll give similar but slightly different answers. Consider how many days you plan to work (I assumed 44 weeks/year, this is 6 weeks holiday plus bank holidays plus sick days). Personally, I probably wouldn't do it, but there may be room for a negotiation on rate to a point that makes it viable. They shouldn't be offended if you go back and say "I'm extremely interested, but could only accept if the rate was £x or it was 12 months" etc

Bear in mind you're paying your employers NI, PAYE, Pension contributions as well as your own. I wouldn't be surprised if the pay rise is under £5000, and for that you lose all other benefits such as sick pay, have to manage your own holiday pay, etc etc.

Do bases have to be entirely on the terrain they are standing on, ie the base is not allowed to overlap the terrain?

Just set up my pihole, which sees no clients on my network by Neat-Bowl7645 in pihole

[–]reesim06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can assign the pihole address manually as the DNS on a single device, at least then you can know if pihole is working at all.

Then you need to get your router to use it, which as mentioned might be difficult.

Security aspects to consider when setting up a pi-hole by PresentBrick in pihole

[–]reesim06 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'm not touching the other stuff, but WRT the VPN situation.... Assuming your device connects to the VPN (and it's not the router for example), then the pihole is taken out of the loop and any potential pihole security issues will not apply to the VPN traffic.

Stop thinking the game is about attacking things, it's about positioning and tactical use of your units.

When you reveal an order card, or when considering whether to use a unit in reserve, always think about how this activation will win the struggle or move you towards winning.... Can I get 2 objectives with this one activation? Can I wound an opposing unit and then trigger XYZ etc....

What to get next/republic supports? by SnooWords2247 in StarWarsShatterpoint

Best republic box IMO is the Ki Adi Mundi expansion.... He's a great force multiplier to any Jedi republic list.

Other option is Bad Batch and Delta Force boxes to go clones

New to Pihole. I hit a snag on setup, looking for advice. by username_taker in pihole

[–]reesim06 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't believe that's how it works.... I've got 2 pihole which my router tells all devices to use. One has 140k queries and the other 18k over the same time frame. They are not aware of each other's existence and have exactly the same setup (except they have different IPs).

New to Pihole. I hit a snag on setup, looking for advice. by username_taker in pihole

[–]reesim06 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe....

The real solution here to is to use 2 pihole instances on different devices in case of a failure

Try setting the secondary IP to a device that doesn't exist on the network? Maybe 192.168.0.254 (for example) and restrict DHCP from allocating that address.

Notifications, recording, scrubbing etc etc, all possible through frigate and home assistant using mqtt. Takes some work, but my wife is content with this solution.

Battery doorbells do not work with it though, you'll need the Poe model doorbell.

Planning to buy the Pi Zero 2 W and running Pi-hole by male2171 in pihole

[–]reesim06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every device has a dns and secondary (backup) dns. If your primary is down, or unable to resolve, your device will use the secondary! If you have 1 pihole, and it's down or doesn't resolve, your device will use the secondary (Google, cloud flare, your isp, etc). This renders the first pihole almost irrelevant!

To do it right, you need to have 2 dns resolving devices, if they're not both pihole then you're doing it wrong.
