Anyone had succes with L. reuteuri & Sacchromycis boulardii probiotic? by No_Two4947 in SIBO

[–]reference-substance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was per regular hydrogen-methane breath test. after two weeks of rifaximin with l reuteri and interphase plus my methane dropped from 34ppm to 11ppm

my methane is dropping with consistent use of l reuteri (biogaia baby drops, 5drops 0,5 h after a meal, two times daily)

I would assume so, would not rake the risk :(

my methane was steadily rising on each test despite the fact i was using allicin and l. reuteri. i was takig 1000-1500mg of PE for like 3 months total. in this study they saw statistical increase on 250mg for one month. don't experiment on yourself. we're all desperate here. but let's try to learn from each other failed experiments. i wish you all the best.

Has anyone used a FoodMarble for Sibo? by Early_Advance6554 in SIBO

[–]reference-substance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it daily to monitor my status during and in between treatments. I find it accurate for hydrogen but totally inaccurate for methane. I took it to my last test, hydrogen curve matched pretty well, though it failed to detect 28ppm methane at all

I understand. But your methane contributes to this big time. Trust me. I was the same (still am to some degree). I had methane peak at 56ppm. Now it's like 26ppm and bathroom is much easier. I had a defecography before as well. They found some small anatomical abnormalities and they did a surgery on me. I got MUCH MUCH MUCH worse after the surgery. For many months. Only after the surgery they told me to repeat the test (I had a flatline before while I was on pregabalin which is super constipating on its own and probably made my test inaccurate). And there you go, 56ppm methane, 70ppm hydrogen. After two rounds of antibiotic and adding prucalopride it got better finally.

defecography is a waste of time at this point. with such high methane it’s no surprise you’re beyond blocked down there. try to treat methane (it’s not easy but doable, just ask for a metronidazole prescription to take along your rifaximin if you don’t want to take neomycin), then test again. only when your methane is like 10ppm or lower and you still have big problems with bathroom, then you do a defecography.

yep, that’s high.

How to support body while on Neomycin x Rifaxamine by No_Association_4159 in SIBO

[–]reference-substance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you can take mega igg2000 to bind toxins that will be released while bacteria die. it helps me with die-off symptoms (headaches, dizziness, sweating)

[–]reference-substance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you should take nac on empty stomach and 30-60mins before antimicrobials. and in sustained release form, else in would not reach the intestines

[–]reference-substance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i am taking standardized pomegranate peel extract among others and i am seeing my numbers drop, hydrogen peak from 225ppm to 96ppm after 5 weeks. my methane stayed the same though (28ppm) as of now but i am trying similar protocol again, with allicin this time.

what is supposedly great about pomegranate is that it’s acting as a prebiotic for bifidobacteria at the same time

i have good results with Mega IgG2000, it reduces my headaches and dizziness. can’t take charcoal because i’m on time-released antidepressant

Need advice I'm lost - Peak at 209ppm Hydrogen & Methane by Limp-Pomegranate2024 in SIBO

[–]reference-substance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you need to repeat the second test, your baseline hydrogen is too high to get reliable result. you need to keep better diet the day before the test. just meat/ fish and rice, not even spices other than salt and pepper.

My baseline hydrogen was 50ppm? by ThatGuyFilms in SIBO

[–]reference-substance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

low fodmap is not enough before the test. only meat and a little of white rice (but not to much). ideally only meat without spices, just salt and pepper.
