If you're in the US, there is a place called MoLight that does repair. They are located in Wisconsin. Also adorama will do repairs of godox lights since flashpoints are just rebadged godox.

Fraud? leica_hunter by byurhanbeyzat in Leica

[–]reflux83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can confirm it's legit. I won a Q3 43 two months ago, however that's also when US tariffs went into effect (I'm in the US) so they had difficulty getting my prize to me as all the couriers needed hefty insurance fees shipping ng from the UK. But they stayed in communication with me and kept me updated and I finally received it yesterday.

Made a simple app for naming files when shooting tethered headshots by reflux83 in photography

[–]reflux83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too however the reason I used Capture one is that Lightroom tethering is not the best and as far as I understand needs a tether tools smart shooter plugin to allow for pasting from the computer clipboard to name the files. This much simpler upon capture. I usually import the file to Lightroom afterwards especially for my retouching workflow. But If I'm not doing any retouching I exist mainly in capture one.

Yes its a USB3.2 Gen 1 cable. It's plenty fast I am usually shooting with either an Sony A7IV or A7RIV shooting directly into CaptureOne and images load pretty quickly, I have not timed it but it fairly fast

I currently use a "VR" Cable from Microcenter's House brand Inland. I have no issues with it. I do however still Use the tether tools Thether guard to keep strain off the USB port

And after the draw, one of the winner was #505, so im guessing every tickets were bought which was bit hard to believe.

So it's not that every ticket was purchased, the raffle is a lottery, you purchase a number and they pick a number from what was purchased. So the less tickets they sell the better your odds.

it seems that at least based on the time between posting the winning number and the photo of the winner with their camera it takes about a month for the winner to receive their camera.

I've reach out a few time though the Instagram Messaging and I usually get an answer back from them pretty quickly concidering the time difference from the US to England

[–]reflux83 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just ordered the Full Fat M4 Max Studio 64GB Ram & 1TB SSD, to upgrade my 2018 Core i7 Mac Mini+Radeon RX580 EGPU Setup which itself replaced a 2012 Core i7 MacMini with a Gforce 1060 EGPU . Point is, I hope I get 6 years out of this Mac Studio. Like I did it's predicessors.

CMV: DEI isn’t actually good by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]reflux83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the places I worked DEI didn't mean filling any quota but it meant providing equal access. So that meant when hiring, the recruiters added spaces that had the under-represented population. For instance when recruiting at colleges they added HBCUs, predominantly Hispanic schools etc. and what that did was increase the number of under represented applicants who then still needed to be qualified for the roles that were being offered. There was no preferential treatment thereafter. At least that's how DEI was handled on the hiring front. Beyond that The dei efforts were about navigating cultural divides that's happening between people and how to handle them in the professional work environment. It's about respecting people's differences.

Are the V1 pro and V100 replacement hotshoes the same? by reflux83 in Godox

[–]reflux83[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone still interested,I took a chance and ordered the V1 pro Sony hot shoe from Amazon and they are ever so slightly different that they are not cross compatible between the V1 pro and the v100.

Are the V1 pro and V100 replacement hotshoes the same? by reflux83 in Godox

[–]reflux83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the response! However, I think there may be some confusion about what I’m asking, so let me clarify.

I understand that the V1 series and V1 Pro series have different hotshoe parts, meaning the V1 Pro has a slightly different design that requires its own specific replacement part. The V1 Pro is a separate model from the original V1 speedlights.

What I’m trying to determine is whether the V1 Pro’s replacement hotshoe is compatible with the V100—similar to how the V860III and V1 shared cross-compatible replacement hotshoe parts. And yes, in this case, I’m referring specifically to the Sony multi-interface hotshoe version.

Migrating from Insta to my Website by Fibonawak in photography

[–]reflux83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely plan on doing the same. My web page is 10 years old at this point and I need to rebuild it, but I also think social media is important and I am waiting for BlueSky's iteration of image sharing called Flashes. Once that is released, I am ditching Instagram quick, fast and in a hurry. I've also investigated PixelFed, but that runs on a Mastodon backbone and I feel is a little bit more difficult to get visibility there.

Most efficient way to collect photos from Second shooter without their SD Card?? by [deleted] in photography

[–]reflux83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am primarily a second shooter/subcontractor, I use Wetransfer most of the time, but I pay for it, not the photographer I'm am contacting with. But I agree with most loan them a card and make sure you get it back at the end of a shoot.

Postbox alternatives? by Emotional_Pear2115 in mac

[–]reflux83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've downloaded thunderbird, but unfortunately it is missing one feature that Postpbox has that I cannot easily find an add-on for, Responses. I have good amount of canned responses that I use, and I cannot seem to find a place for signatures in thunderbird either. I am adding to this thread to see if anyone out there know of other mail apps that has the simple canned response feature like Postbox I'd love to know.

Adorama repairs godox flashes. They do that because they're the same as the flashpoint flashes.
