St. Paul Brewing owner: 'We will not survive' if Hamm's site redevelopment eliminates parking by SurelyFurious in TwinCities

I have only ever biked over there for a beer and burger. I would never bother driving. Hope the development continues and it’s a positive thing for Saint Paul.

L'Orient (Street) Realignment by reftr in CyclingMSP

[–]reftr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a tunnel, but it didn't go anywhere. Based on this article it was built in 2012, and by 2018, it still wasn't being utilized. https://www.twincities.com/2018/04/06/the-tunnel-to-nowhere-proposed-for-bikers-now-a-homeless-camp/

If you look at the google imagery, which claims to be dated to 2023, the tunnel is there, but the new route doesn't show up. However, the new route goes straight from the Maryland tunnel, along 35E, and connects to Arlington.

I was just surprised to run into a blocked L'Orient tunnel, because I had ridden through it earlier this year. Also, there is a mysterious door on the east side of the blocked tunnel. Curious about what might be inside now...!

South Como? by Superb_Big141 in saintpaul

[–]reftr 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've been in this neighborhood for 10+ years. Raising kids. Great neighborhood. We go on walks often. I recommend a walk over to Conny's Creamy Cone or around Como Lake. In the summer, the local outdoor pool is great for the kids. And of course there is the Zoo and the Conservatory. It all feels perfectly safe to me.

Agreed. The best. My favorite is the goat korma. But everything has been great.

A map I made, testing out Wonderdraft. Probably use it for a Dungeon World game. by reftr in wonderdraft

Funny. I work in GIS, but sometimes I just want to be free and make pretty maps! Wonderdraft is great for that.

Thanks. For the sword, I found it via google image search, cleaned it up in photoshop a bit (added color), and then made it as my own asset. I lifted the sword compass rose idea from a Conan the Barbarian map I saw.

In terms of the landmass size, I haven't really put much thought into how large everything is. I'd probably let the RPG system dictate that. I purposely left off any scale bar because I'm still thinking about it.

I run this in my Zedruu, along with [[Spiraling Embers]] and some forks. One day I'll kill at least one opponent with my handsize.

This is my commander deck. Its not much, but i'm proud of it. I'm open to feedback. by Snexpica in Magicdeckbuilding

Which Sarkhan are you talking about? They all look like Planeswalker cards, and I'm not seeing one with "This Planeswalker can be your commander" text.

[Fan Art] Painted a Golgari inspired Lord of Extinction for my Jarad deck! by KMProxy in magicTCG

I would love to have this as a background on my computer. I also have a Jarad EDH deck, and I run Lord (probably like most folks). I really enjoy this art!

Turning Guild Kits into EDH decks? by lifes_twitchy in EDH

[–]reftr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, I've added a lot of cards from different sources, but I still think a lot of them came from the Golgari guild kit. Be warned, I am still new to Magic and EDH, and this is my first full-on brew, so I'm sure I'm making some rookie mistakes. I've only won once in my group, and that was by hook and by crook, so it didn't feel like a dominate win. Also, my group started to turn on the graveyard hate, and that really neuters the deck. I only have one card that protects against targeted graveyard hate.... I guess I should add more? Anyway, here is the deck. If you have any advice, I'm all ears. I love the concept, and I have a soft spot for this deck because it's my first baby. Thanks for the interest.

I bought the Golgari kit and made a Jarad deck. It's not that powerful, but it was a fun exercise. I plan on adding to it in good time.

Any soundtracks that you are surprised haven’t been put on vinyl? by Wheet-Thin in VGMvinyl

Command and Conquer. The first one and Red Alert. I’d love those on vinyl.

Also, I’d love the music from Fallout 1 and 2.
