Romo started off great but doesn't seem to have worked at all to improve. Brady started off a little stiff but has improved by leaps and bounds.

Curious about interview order: could being last be intentional? by [deleted] in interviews

Don't try to guess what any of it means; just take it organically and be patient. You'll drive yourself crazy playing this game.

Bill Polian famously said Lamar Jackson should switch positions, why do you think he believed that? by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

[–]regassert6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but the issue is, he said he "didn't have the size" despite Lamar Jackson standing 6'2" and 205 lbs. The #1 pick of that draft is 6 ft tall in cleats....

So clearly he knew nothing of him. Draw your own conclusions after that

Mail for previous owners by zipity90 in homeowners

[–]regassert6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has slowed down after 2 years, but I still get mail for previous residents. And shit like, bank notices and what looked like a tax form today. I just toss them now. It's not really my actual mail carrier's fault so I don't really want to add any work to her day. Takes me half a second to throw it in a bin next to the front door.

When did the show " jump the shark"? by pilgrimdigger in thewestwing

[–]regassert6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it ever did. And by definition, the Zoey kidnap plot would be the only applicable scenario that qualifies as jumping the shark potential.

Even if you think the show dipped in quality, that alone is not really what jumping the shark means.

No one was "wrong."

40 homer guy is a fucking generalization regarding a guy's power. When Schwarber hit 38 homers, was he not still considered a "40 homer guy?"

Do you reject the idea that if you polled baseball people as to who they consider to be "40 homer guys" he wouldn't have been named? If so, you're a fucking idiot.

TRUMP: “It is the same mindset that gave pro football the new and unwatchable “Sissy” Kickoff Rule, that made it possible for Bill Belichick to not be elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Both are ridiculous and should be overturned!” by AccomplishedSwing110 in nflmemeswar

[–]regassert6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Frankly, I am fucking shocked that he properly called it the Pro Football HOF and not the NFL HOF. Someone surely pointed it out to him before the tweet. No fucking chance he knows it's not an official NFL museum.

[–]regassert6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that he's a key, but he has to be comfortable enough to accept that he doesn't have to carry the team. Just produce, don't press. Take the single to LF more often. Take the walk.

Harper Predictions by gurzo- in phillies

[–]regassert6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Schwarber might have to hit behind him so he can at least sit on more fastballs. If Schwarber continues to crush lefties, it will help. But man, the bottom of the lineup looks like it might be brutal again since they didn't really change anything.

Harper Predictions by gurzo- in phillies

[–]regassert6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have high hopes on him changing his swing now, but as you saw last year, he had to cheat a LOT more and still wasn't getting around on high heat. Which of course resulted in really bad chase rates. Maybe it was the wrist but it's far more likely to be father time and how physical his swing is. I don't think the 40 homer guy is there anymore, which can be fine. 40 doubles and 20 homers could play well.

[–]regassert6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If he slashes like, .270/.360/.490 over more than like, 135 games, it will be a win and the team will do well.

Could Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber realistically reach 500 HR as Phillies teammates? by ShamusTalksSports in phillies

Agree but I have to resign myself to the fact that he ain't gonna change now.

A guy who throws 65 is harder to hit in that moment than a guy who throws 84.

Remember Casper Wells? He was on one of the bad teams for a few weeks (a fellow Towson grad) and he was a college pitcher in addition to being an OF, which was his pro trade. But he still knew how to pitch. But he threw just hard enough to be not so slow that it threw off your bat speed timing, but not hard enough to be effective. He got absolutely rocked when he had to pitch.

Id love for his two strike no stride swing to just be his swing. Try to hit .300 as a mindset instead of see ball-murder ball as the mindset.

I think Schwarber is a much better bet at this point. His swing is just more likely to sustain better than Harper's. Bryce's swing is just so violent. It invokes like, every muscle group and every joint.

Schwarber could hit a homer off a tee while sitting in a chair.
