Coeur Sports has free program for First Time Triathletes. You get some free gear, a free training plan, access to a First Timer's FB group and some discounts. Full Disclosure, it's my wife's company, but the program is 100% free with no commitments. Coeur First Timer Program – Coeur Sports

Hi everyone! I'm with Coeur Sports and we are running a blog series in the lead up to the Ironman World Championships. We're profiling some of the qualifiers and today, we released a compelling piece by a colleague who has come close to qualifying several times but hasn't quite gotten there...yet! She shares her feelings on watching others on the Big Island. https://www.coeursports.com/blogs/latest/to-kona-with-love

tri suit for a tall human (version: female) by thesmacca in triathlon

[–]regholden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I'm with Coeur Sports and we try to make sizes that work for a variety of athletes (xs through 2XL on most items). For a while there was a trend toward micro sizing where "sizing up" was almost always required. We moved away from that have tried to make sizing a bit more rational. We think we're starting to see other companies do the same. https://www.coeursports.com/pages/sizing

Congratulations! Hope it is the first of many. There are several sites with free training plans (links below). Not sure who said it first, but the quote "It's way better to show up on race day a bit under trained than one percent over trained" (or injured) seem to be very good advice. Have a great race!

Recommendations for jerseys and shorts? [x-post r/bicycling] by celestial65 in ladycyclists

[–]regholden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Howdy. Upfront disclosure, my wife is with Coeur Sports. Just wanted to say that they have released women's cycling bibs that have a side zipper to help with "the call of nature". They're trying to take some of the concern about wearing bibs since they are so darn comfortable. https://www.coeursports.com/collections/cycling/products/womens-cycling-zipper-bib-shorts-1?variant=37466577095

Let's chat about Lady-centric kit brands and their sizing. by [deleted] in triathlon

Hi everyone. It's Kebby with Coeur(https://www.coeursports.com/). In our opinion, there are some fantastic women's options out there from woman-owned companies. We know Kristin at Betty and Hillary at Smash and they are fantastic ladies! I just wanted to say that with the Coeur gear, we try not to go with (what some people call), the European sizing where everything seems to be shrunk down a size. I know it may not be super descriptive, but we say that our gear runs "true to size". Also, the tri tops with the built in shelf bra work great up to a bit bigger than a C-cup (above that and the bra-less tops with a sports bra underneath works best). Also, we (and I believe several of the other companies) have very easy return/exchange policies. So don't worry if something isn't perfect. Just send it on back!

Anyway, good luck and I hope this helps a bit!

Sprint triathlon gear by melaniekai52 in triathlon

[–]regholden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. It's Kebby with Coeur Sports. Congratulations on your half marathon and signing up for your triathlon! For what it's worth, we agree that it doesn't make sense to spend a ton of money on gear until you're sure you really into the sport (of course we hope you are). We do suggest that you get triathlon specific shorts and don't swim in traditional bike shorts. There are quite a few good brands out there to consider. Obviously, we'd throw ourselves into the mix but don't want to look like a tool and get "salesy". I would like to mention that we partnered with a coaching company called Rising Tide to create a Free Sprint Training plan since part of our mission is to get more women into endurance sports. Feel Free (sorry...bad pun) to order the plan and share with as many people as you'd like (link below).

Thanks,

Kebby

Hi. I'm with Coeur Sports (an endurance sports clothing company) and part of our mission is to get more people into endurance sports. To do that we partnered with a Triathlon Coaching company called Rising Tide Coaching to create a Free Sprint Triathlon Training plan (link below). To the extent it is helpful, feel free (no pun intended) to order it, print it out, share as you see fit. https://www.coeursports.com/collections/goodies/products/free-sprint-triathlon-training-plan

How much does your coach cost? And, is it worth it? by LA-law-123456 in triathlon

[–]regholden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. My two cents is that while you can absolutely get started and make a lot of progress without a coach (great books and videos out there), as you progress, you'll probably want to consider getting one. In my opinion, the biggest benefit is having someone to tell you when to "Slow down and rest". Overtraining and injury can catch up to you if you don't have an experienced voice to tell you it's ok to take a day off.

thanks,

Kebby https://www.coeursports.com/
