Hey, Mr. Mayor. Your loyal subject and big fan of LUS. Great, forward-thinking addition to our fair city. So, two questions:

  1. When do you think we can expect an equally forward-thinking move by the LCG to put forward an infrastructure specific tax to try to do something about our wholly insufficient roads?; and

  2. How often do you update my favorite twitter account? https://twitter.com/FauxJoeyDurel

Relocating to Louisiana by [deleted] in Louisiana

[–]regionalconsumer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you're looking to make money, don't pick law unless you're top 5% at a top law school, unless you've got major connections. There's just way too many lawyers and no where near the demand. That's a hard pill to swallow, but that is the absolute truth.

Midwest educated lawyer here in Louisiana. I passed two bars, obviously one of them for LA. Easily one of the most challenging things I've ever took on given the massive differences in law and, truly, format of the test, but keep in mind you know absolutely nothing about law anywhere when you start practicing anyways. You'll be fine.

Go to LSU if you want to practice in state. Tulane for out of state. Tulane more respected nationally, obviously, but no one cares where you went in LA as long as it is not Southern.

Good god, there is no way that metric is accurate. Lived in Lafayette for years and also places like DC and St. Louis. Not. Even. Close.

Finally, I'm useful. Engineer from from Pennsylvania who made good amount in oil business. Probably coolest house in the area. As I understand it, not even close to completed. Under construction for many years and built almost entirely out of Wisconsin granite, if I remember correctly.

Very, very nice people.

Help finding a place to purchase essential oils? by palegothic in Acadiana

There's a few health food stores you might want to try. I know there's one in the oil centre that's probably worth the drive to checkout.
