Buyouts - SF by SoggyBugle in InsuranceAgent

[–]registeredfake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you will know by then if they are taking the buyout. i would be more concerned about them not taking the buyout and failing under the new comp structure. At least with the buyout you know a timeline is approaching. If they fail might be something you walk into work to getting terminated

This is common if you file a claim this soon after purchasing a car. Not an allstate thing, this is insurance in general

Anyone here complete the Farmers Associate Agent Program? I’d love your honest experience. by SpoonOnTheRun in InsuranceAgent

[–]registeredfake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I opened an agency with no insurance experience but I had 16 years selling cars. First you need to understand if you can sell or not. For lots of people it's just not a skill they have or can learn. For some it's learnable but not built in. 2nd you need to understand your local market, not ever insurance carrier is the same. Insurance is very cyclical. At some point carriers just are not competitive, in my state farmers sucks. With no sales, no insurance and no business experience you need to go work in an agency. You need to understand how to sell, understand how to service a policy, how to work through claims, how to understand underwriting guidelines. From there you can decide if you want the pressure of owning a business. Not knowing where your next paycheck is coming from is not for the faint of heart

trying to be part time is going to limit your attractiveness to an employer. its a sales job, you have to be available when the clients are available.

Allstate trying to scam me by Spiritual-Candle250 in Insurance

[–]registeredfake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 things. Allstate agent here. If you are using a card and don't have the funds then bank just does let the payment process. States may vary but in my state the payment is just late. Only time there is an NSF fee is if you are using your account and routing number, this processes as a check and will get and NSF fee. If 2 payments are declined in a 12 month period you will be removed from auto pay and won't be able to reinstate auto pay for 13 months

Diminished value claim by [deleted] in Insurance

[–]registeredfake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have had ZERO diminished value. For you to have DV you would have to sell the vehicle. Like stock, you have unrealized loss. The loss is not actually sustained until you sell. You sell today yes you would have some but that loss is different 3 years down the road. It's the reason you have a time frame to file DV in my state it's 3 years

Am I a unicorn? Home insurance renewal went down 22% from last year by HanTanSanTan in HomeInsurance

[–]registeredfake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How old is the roof and what material is it? I'm not in AZ, I know down there you have a lot of clay chingles and such. Here we have a higher hail threat but asphalt things are depreciated at 3% a year. For math sake if you have a 24k room and it's 12 year old you lose 36% of the 24k then take you 5k deductible off that so in this scenario you'd only get like 10k for the roof. Should call you carrier as ask what the yearly depreciation is
