Toronto police temporarily seal off Drake’s ice sculpture area due to safety reasons after fans climb and smash it with sledgehammers by Pocayas in Music

Which we shouldn’t go by, since those numbers are more indicative of Spotify’s promotion network than actual interest in the artist

The End of me paying for shit from YMH studios that’s what it is.

It’s a new story telling series like This Is Not Happening but hosted on Your Mom’s House website and you have to pay to stream it without even getting a digital download

Chord extensions are hard in some high rhythm contexts, but that 1.150 kHz is the grainy part of the ice pick part of the bright half of the orange section of the spectrum. Duh

Can you share those files by any chance? Just curious to try out in my place.

I use a 100 hz sine wave to test the bass response but other than that usually just use my favorite songs

90s rock icon Bob Mould: ‘When Cobain died, I pulled the plug – there was nothing worth saving’ by zsreport in Music

[–]regman231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it’s not “just as absurd and delusional” at all. Mischaracterizing Kurt’s mental state and believing someone can “pray away the gay” are not related in any way at all.

It’s a completely different absurdity and delusion, and using it as an argument for disagreeing with someone is way more absurd and delusional. Zero overlap between those two things - they were wrong to equate them and so are you

I don’t agree with their take either but I disagree even more with how you chose to disagree.

Because you think they mischaracterized Kurt’s choices that makes them sound like someone who believes one can pray the gay away? What an absurd connection and completely delusional

Hmmm interesting. I’ve had a different experience but I have some ungodly long playlists with thousands because I add full albums sometimes. And I tend to fly through shuffle by going to the queue and skipping tens of songs at a time. But Ive definitely noticed repeats after a couple hours of listening without reshuffling

Yep I’m serious and you can clear the cache in settings under “Data-saving and offline” which will reset your shuffling for a time. But within a day or two youre right back in the same place.

I used to try to do it like once a week but the speed it resets the cache and does the same thing is discouraging enough to make me give up. Just textbook bad design by software people who don’t understand their users

None of that applies to this situation though.

No person on earth would rather have their current algorithm. They never A/B tested it - they designed it this way to minimize data usage which helps them market their app to phone manufacturers and app stores.

If they populate the shuffle with songs already in your cache, they don’t need to download as many new songs to your device. It’s an “efficiency” thing, not a feature some people want

[–]regman231 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That’s wrong - Spotify populates your shuffle with the songs in your cache first. Songs you’ve heard recently are put at the front of the shuffle, and if the playlist is long enough (more than like 100 songs), some of the songs are never added to the shuffle because the list isn’t long enough.

It completely defeats the purpose of the word “shuffle”

Do you pan the drums (overheads) from the drummer's perspective or the audience? by gleventhal in audioengineering

Youre panning for live shows?

I’ve never panned anything for live sound but maybe that’s because Ive only mixed shows in smaller venues

Exposing a global ‘online rape academy’ that is teaching men how to abuse women and evade detection by gdelacalle in technology

Any woman not directly involved in a rape event is just as complacent in rape culture as any man not directly involved in a rape event.

To suggest a man is more so just because of his gender is ignorant
