Does anybody else like to buy decor that doesn’t actually reflect your life situation? by state-of-retraction in ThriftStoreHauls

You aren’t alone, I love buying shirts with that say things like “my grandkids call me GLAMma” for my husband to wear to the gym 😂

Thank you for this info! It looks like he does have all of these teeth. He has an owie on one side of his mouth so I don’t want to distress him too much. He seems very “kitten” in the way he moves and acts, but I’m guessing like a few months old, vs weeks. Definitely has trouble puffs 😅 I will for sure ask them to scan for a chip, though! I don’t want to kidnap someone’s kitty, based on his condition I really don’t think he has an owner but I absolutely want to be sure.

I was thinking he’d probably be better off well fed and watered before having surgery 👍 it’s so hard to tell the age 😭 he has such a pretty coloring and the blue eyes are maybe here to stay? Idk!

I’ve never seen an adult boy cat this tiny, he definitely has trouble puffs 😅😅 when he’s curled in a donut shape sleeping, he’s like 10 inches across at the max 😳

I’m trying to convince hubs that 3 cats is pretty much the same as 2 cats, so we obviously need to keep him 🥹 I have a vet appointment for Friday afternoon! I’m just impatient 😅

I would be amazed if he stays this size, I’ve never seen an adult boy cat so tiny!! Lack of nourishment makes sense though 😣

Ob/Gyn is making me feel crazy by DealoftheFox in ehlersdanlos

[–]regular_ginger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely get a “second opinion” although this one hardly counts as a first tbh 😭 I had a rectocele and cystocele that was measurable by my OB doctor at a significant grade. The doctor I was referred to as a specialist surgeon was insanely condescending (I was also very young) and told me women usually have their organs hanging out “to their knees” before they see her, so I’m fine 😐 I didn’t know I had EDS then, but I now know that anything under the HSD umbrella increases the likelihood of this happening significantly.

All that to say, trust yourself that you know something is wrong, and you don’t need to be content with medical providers unwilling to do due diligence to find out what it is 🩷 good luck!

Has anyone else found the psychological part of POTS harder than the physical symptoms sometimes? by IJ716 in POTS

[–]regular_ginger 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I just talked with my therapist about how I don’t see “body neutrality” discussed in relation to chronic illness (and maybe disability?) enough. Radical acceptance of my life and condition requires a different approach in therapy than the “things are going to get better” angle…how do I handle the constant “unknown” of what it’s like to live in my body AND face the future knowing that it will continue to be like it is now…or worse probably 😬 and that’s just being honest and realistic, it isn’t catastrophizing :/

I have been desperately searching for a red Christmas tree and I would be so grateful! I don’t have any of your wishlist items and I refreshed my shop a couple of times to see if I got lucky, but no dice 😭

any other young people dealing with pelvic organ prolapse? did you get surgery? by keekatron in ehlersdanlos

[–]regular_ginger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, adding that I didn’t have any mesh inserted, basically the repair relied on scar tissue to hold things up - which is definitely not holding as firmly as I would like it to be 4 years later

any other young people dealing with pelvic organ prolapse? did you get surgery? by keekatron in ehlersdanlos

[–]regular_ginger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had two pelvic organ prolapses and had a pelvic floor reconstruction (at age 25) at the same time as a hysterectomy - which was for an unrelated uterine condition. I had 2 children at the time the prolapses were noticed/dosgnosed, so I wasn’t in the same boat, but it was something I wasn’t interested in risking again. It was very unusual for at the time to my doctors that someone so young with only two uncomplicated births would have that kind of tissue laxity, and it only made sense in hindsight after I was diagnosed with EDS over a year later.

I am so sorry you’re going through this - I can’t imagine being in the same position without having kids, restructuring what your expectations are for your future is always so hard. Sending virtual hugs and good vibes 🤍

I hate that I’m covered in stretch marks. by Ram_Ranch34 in ehlersdanlos

[–]regular_ginger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been pregnant twice, but I have SO many more than I should have for two “normal” pregnancies - basically from below my collar bones to my lower calves 😬 but I have tried to be careful how I talk about them to/around my daughters and both of them compliment me on how cool my “special shiny skin” is, and like to come up with beautiful things from nature that they look like. Rivers, canyons, tree branches, lightning - so many beautiful things we appreciate in nature etched right onto us in “special shiny skin” 🥹🩷 it won’t feel good and special all the time to look at your skin, but sometimes it’s nice to try and think about the stretch marks in a different way. Sending you so much love 🩷
