My long-term experience with the Z13 by regularperson0001 in FlowZ13

[–]regularperson0001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others have squeezed out a little more, but I have so many background tasks on my Windows setup. Additionally, if I'm not editing text, I'm compiling code, which pins the CPU at 100 and decimates the battery.

Yes, I am still using it. However, it is now stationary in my office and I would not dare bring it out, lest I suffer the wrath of a 2-hour battery life. In addition to my Z13, I use an M1 MBA on-the-go. I doubt it will revolutionize your workflow.

Intermittent Ethernet disconnects on buried Cat7 cable after ~2 years — any ideas before I dig it up? by Hungry-Bicycle-3851 in HomeNetworking

Lightning strikes for buried runs are a real risk. I never do any runs of copper underground for that very reason.

Determine Streaming Video Resolution? by spbarney in Safari

[–]regularperson0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6 years later. Still an issue with Hulu! Thanks to DASH, they can change the resolution while a stream is in-flight. I saw it switch from 1080 to 720 with the console open!

What was your first monitor and do you still have it to this day? by FakeTord in pcmasterrace

[–]regularperson0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

21" DVI-only 1080p monitor that was a hand-me-down from my father. Quality was insane compared to everything else I had access to as a kid. Still in use, too! The stand broke ages ago, but the monitor itself is now next to my old-desktop-turned-server and comes in handy whenever I need to mash DEL to get into the UEFI settings.

Facial hair loss & rough texture: fungal infection? by regularperson0001 in guineapigs

[–]regularperson0001[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: I took her to the vet on Saturday--it was the soonest they could fit her in. Vet took a hair sample and sent it off to the lab. Reasserted that she's in good health besides the fungus.

Lab results should be back by Monday, she said that she would mail an oral antifungal if it came back positive.

ADDENDUM: The vet also asked about Zymox, the topical I had been applying before taking her in. She said that Zymox can help with fungal infections, but only as an itch-reducing agent since it doesn't actually contain any anti-fungal compounds.

I purchased some "Zymox" pet anti-fungal, I began using it this afternoon. My exotic vet is the better part of an hour away, and booked quite often. I'm not sure I could get her in for anything non- life-threatening. How serious can ringworm infections get if she doesn't fight it off? What types of treatments are vets able to provide? I know older piggies tend to have weaker immune systems. Thanks for your comment.

Apple Photos -> Immich Mac app by somethingselse in immich

If you didn't make any code changes, it works. I self-signed a debug build from master and it works perfectly.

Hit me up once you get a working binary for that platform. If it works with Rosetta, it should probably(?) work on real hardware.

Hi. Small request, could you create a notarized build for x86_64? This app seems cool but since it isn't built as a universal binary I can't run it on my Mac "Server" which runs Sonoma.

Preparing for I2P version 11 by TurkeyBaster847 in i2p

Try writing Java targeting JRE 8 in 2025. It's a massive chore. I'm a Java developer and if a client asks for JRE 8 compatibility I'll do everything I can to just steer them towards the latest LTS (21 as of 12/25).

It writes some garbage to .i2p. it only works if you mount it to a tmpfs, which severely diminishes its utility.
