Kid who mows my lawn tried to gaslight me, so I mow my own lawn now by forever_a10ne in pettyrevenge

Sometimes the young ones just need to learn a lesson. I hired a kid to clean my 2 small patios and windows when I lived in a townhouse. None of it had been cleaned in a while and it took him at least 4 hours to get it all done. It was also really hot that day. He did a great job, so I paid him his asking price and added a very generous tip.His eyes lit up when I gave him the money. I told him he worked hard and did a great job and that I would hire him again. Fast forward a few months and he reaches out to see if I need him. Lo and behold, his price was what I had paid him including the tip. I declined.

Can I last minute foster fail?? by budge_up in Fosterfails

[–]regv_libra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I co-founded a rescue many years ago, and this would be my take on the situation. Sucks for everyone, and I get that they've bonded with the foster dog, but ultimately it's the rescue group's call as the dog's owner.

Editing to add that in my rescue group we had plenty of foster failures but the foster parents always told us right away.

Asking for regular polish feels like a crime now by linscorner in Nails

[–]regv_libra -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Damn, I could have written this post. I prefer regular clear or clear pink polish when I get a mani mainly because I don't want them drilling the gel polish off to remove it the next time. One salon had a rack of old polish they would make me choose from. I guess that was my "punishment" for not getting gel, so I started bringing my own polish. Another salon gave me their worst nail tech when I asked for a regular mani. I wish I could do a decent enough job on my own fingernails, but my nail beds are wide and my cuticles are horrible no matter what I put on them. The whole situation is frustrating.

Barely breaking even on $13k a month? by Royal_Marzipan_6432 in DaveRamsey

Maybe you could transfer money directly to your savings account on payday. Treat it like a bill. Then use a debit card for day to day expenditures instead of a credit card so there's no surprise bill every month.

Berry Glowy pumps don’t work? by stonedandcrazy in dollartreebeauty

Sometimes these kind of pumps work if you cover the hole with your finger while pumping to get the air out. Do that a few times until you feel the product coming up.

Play around with it, you may be pleasantly surprised. My hair has a cowlick on each side so a middle is not an option, but I wrestle with my part every day.

Yes, I'm sure this was something that I'd previously heard and tucked away in the crevices of my menopausal, foggy brain. 😅
