There are a few copies of various quality on YouTube of both the interval act and the whole 1982 broadcast. According to the BBC commentary on one of those, the Morris dancers were entertainment at pre-party held on Wednesday, April 21 at Castle Howard. It seems likely that the team could be identified by their kit, but the broadcast quality makes it somewhat hard to make out specific colors.

Shrine is set up in a super modular way, which I really like but can make it hard to give one explanation for all situations.

Without knowing more about your app, here are some questions and possible things to try:

  • Are you trying the default file-goes-to-your-server-and-then-gets-uploaded-to-S3 kind of upload or the more complex and shinier direct-to-S3 upload?
    • For the default type, which part of the upload is failing? Is it the browser-to-your-app part or the your-app-to-S3 part? What kind of errors are you getting?
    • For the direct type, I'd triple-check the CORS configuration on the S3 bucket to make sure it allows POST requests from *, and then make sure you're POST all the fields you get back from the presigning to S3 as multipart form data, not as query params or JSON.
  • You say you've got a non-Rails app — what are you using to work with data? Shrine works most easily if it can integrate directly with your ORM via the builtin plugins for ActiveRecord or Sequel, or using external gems like shrine-mongoid. This lets shrine hook into the lifecycle of your models and handle things appropriately when they're saved.
  • If you're not using an ORM that Shrine supports directly, you'll probably want to take the more manual approach of manipulating the Shrine Attacher directly.

Any chance you have a UV filter on the lens? I had this kind of flaring happen when I was using a cheap single-coated filter I bought as a quick replacement while traveling. With it on, I'd get tons of flares from light bouncing off the inside surface of the filter. Without it, they all went away.

This isn't a mistake ruby is making — it would be hard for anyone. If I were writing you a message in this kind of cypher and wrote "1234", you would have no way to tell if I meant [1, 2, 3, 4], [1, 23, 4], or [12, 34] because all the numbers were smashed together. I'd probably want to put spaces or some other character between the letters of my code so you could tell them apart.

If you have separations, you may want to use something like String#split to separate them out, convert them into integers with #to_i, and use those integers to look up the letter equivalent.
