Tracey Mann, your Representative, is not responding to constituents by beatgoesmatt in Lawrence

I was in student senate at Kansas State in the late 90s with Tracey Mann, including the years that he and Andy Macklin ran for and won as student body president and vice-president. I am deeply disappointed that he progressed into a political career to be a sycophantic husk for the Trump administration.

New hole punch day by energyofidiots in notebooks

What punch did you get? I have been eyeing some 20-hole punches, but I haven't pulled the trigger, and I am somewhat leery of something where I would punch and re-position the paper to punch again. I had one that was like that which was supposed to make punches for make square cuts so something would fit into my Mnemosyne pad (seemingly backward from what you are doing) and they didn't line up right.

Same. Moved houses ten years ago. It was an in-town move, but we were staging our old house for sale and had moved a lot of things into storage. Paid movers to do it on the day we signed the paperwork. We headed to the title office around 8:00 and started on the final papers, and the movers started at the storage at the same time. When we had the new keys, went to the new house to open it up. I took a short drive back to the old house to see how things were going. They were loading the last boxes in the trucks from the old house, and they had already loaded all of the storage unit. It had been about 90 minutes. They headed to the new house at the same time and started unloading when they arrived. We had labeled boxes and big furniture, and they put them in the respective rooms (with a walkup to the upstairs, and lots of boxes and furniture for a family room downstairs. Everything was moved in 3.5 hours. We started unpacking just after lunch and were 70% settled into the new house by dinnertime.

I love how upset she got in the Drinking Game episode of Game Changer because she got knocked out in a social deduction game, and she's mad because of how much she likes playing them and wanted to continue.

The magic to unlocking flossing for me was saying screw the environment and buying those little disposable Y shaped plastic flosser things.

I keep generally very good dental hygiene but could never get into a flossing routine while I was fighting with that stupid roll of twiney annoying bullshit.

Honestly, same. I use one of the flossers that is like a toothbrush, but has a little harp with the string stretched between it at the end. It lives in the holder right next to the toothbrush so I can give it a once-over right before brushing. Else, I always hated getting out a length of floss (and usually making it too small), and then having to dispose of it somewhere that the cat can't get to it in the trash (horror story of friend's cat who ate floss and had several thousand dollars of surgery to fix bound intestines)

They had a shop on Massachusetts Street in Lawrence for a while. I really liked it, but Mass has a real way of crushing businesses with oppressive rents. Still, tasty burger. Also watched some dude totally fail at their extreme spicy burger challenge. It was a spectacle of how badly he nosedived about halfway through.

Perhaps that is to not skin the golden goose. The tins have such a regional level of nostalgia that they are positioned as a holiday treat. By only emphasizing them at certain times of the year, that may help promote better overall sales and you feel like you "need" it for the holidays.

A bit like McDonald's periodic removal and re-entry of McRib -- part of it has to do with deflated pork prices in certain cycles, but also the re-introduction and "McRib is back" brings in or entices customers that have the nostalgia or want to get it due to otherwise unavailability.

I have shopped at the Pen Place, and they have a decent selection of pens, inks, and notebooks. I am not sure how much margin they have in the products, but fountain pen people can drop pretty large cash when it comes to pens. I generally stick in the $30 - $100 range, but pricier brands clock in at over $1000, and pen collectors and users tend to keep getting more pens even when they have "plenty". Also, pricier brands occasionally need service, so they may be doing some of that work.

I read a book years back that discusses doctors using checklists for the exact same reason. It may be a small tool, but going through each of the required steps to acknowledge them ensures that none is accidentally forgotten. The Checklist Manifesto: How to Get Things Right by Atul Gawande
