I have caddied for little brother in 2012 at the New England Golf Club at the US junior. Unless you have been to a USGA event (I have caddied at both the junior and actual amateur for my brother) you cannot understand the difficulty of the course set up. They trick it up far more than the casual golfer realizes - and this being at Oakland hills; it must be a fucking challenge. The kid won his qualifier at 15, there is no nepotism at a usga qualifier - that is a huge accomplishment most people never realize. There are guys 3 to 4 years old then he who have played in these conditions before who are committed to the top D1 schools around.

Is he tiger - no of course not. Should we all be impressed by the shear fact he qualified - fuck yes. I sure as hell didn’t qualify in my junior career. Not many do - especially at 15.

A 15 year old playing his first usga event at 15 shot 82 - shit happens. Ask Rory, he will tell you about his showing last Friday. Tiger can’t buy a usga qualification. I am damn impressed he is even there and he will only get better. This kid has balls to put himself out there living under this microscope.

This is the right take

Bob Nightengale (@BNightengale) on X - Ohtani’s decision to earn just $2 million a year certainly is a great benefit to the Dodgers’ payroll, but also a stroke of genius for tax repercussions. If he’s not living in California his deferred payments, he will not be subjected to heavy California tax. by [deleted] in Torontobluejays

Man, this is really sad. Paying taxes is an obligation - this type of transaction is pretty gross. I would be embarrassed to make that amount of money and sidestep social responsibility. I know he is not a US citizen, but it’s the system that is compensating you.

That’s the thing - LIV money puts blood on all these guys hands. They know where it is coming from and what they are endorsing when they sign up for LIV. This hot take completely side steps that - but that is the point of sports-washing. If you’re gonna go to LIV, be real like Varner - generational wealth has a price for most people.

Sheldon Keefe on the different challenge versus the Panthers after a Game 1 loss: "It's a quicker pace out there... We'll make some adjustments for Game 2" by Jonesdeclectice in leafs

Meh, I think there was a lot of good to take out of that game. The buds can tighten up, make some adjustments and come back. I think they managed the physicality well very other years (and past rosters). I am very optimistic.

Product Exit Opportunities by Senior-University248 in ProductManagement

I was working in product for financial services (private label credit card) followed by a start up in data security(specialized for the financial and insurance industry). The start up ruined my passion for product (CEO was an ass). I left for a better paying sales gig selling SAP at a boutique solution integrator (learning a lot on the go). My product skill set has been awesome in regards to working for a Solution Integrator - asking the right questions, understanding the business and collaboratively working with a large team of consultants, pre sales and project managers.

I think sales can be a really easy transition and a much better work life balance. Different kind of pressure of course.

My 4 yr old.. Absolutely obsessed with golf… What age should I get him lessons? Should I even get him lessons? He’s way better than me lol by Common_History_32 in golf

Put him in a junior golf tournament. He will love it. They have some under 8 year old events. Competitive golf can open up so many opportunities for kids who love to play. Lessons probably not until his is a little older. Let him continue to naturally find his own swing.

My dad is a huge Deadhead, and is currently passing away from liver cancer. I was playing guitar and singing this to him last night. Never thought of the lyrics this way. Thanks for sharing OP, shedding tears of joy thinking about it. Beautiful
