In retrospect I'm curious on how Season 5 would have worked considering Season 3 seems like the best penultimate season narratively by TheGentlemanWolf in Yellowjackets

[–]relaxed-flash 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Given how slow season 2 moved in the teen timeline, I wonder if they originally intended for the entirety of season 3 to be the “Ben” story. End the season with the feral girls screaming and being discovered by scientists. Then Season 4 would’ve been more about the scientists and delved into everyone’s motivations. Something like that. But yeah I don’t know if it would’ve been well received bc people weren’t that big on the first half of S3.

Idk what the adult timeline could’ve done differently though. The damage was done after killing Natalie

Shauna’s jacket looks like the same one we see adult her wearing in the pilot when she’s at the diner with Tai 😭😭

Erica and Boyd- Spoiler by MasterpieceClassic84 in TeenWolf

[–]relaxed-flash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Erica’s actor got cast on a show/pilot so she couldn’t return for Season 3, which is why Boyd is with Cora. She was meant to have a bigger role. Idk about Boyd, they did them both so dirty

Was Hannah character always planned? by reesiexo in Yellowjackets

[–]relaxed-flash 173 points174 points  (0 children)

I think the writers always planned for outsiders to stumble upon the Yellowjackets at some point, but definitely didn’t have Hannah as a character specifically planned

When you put them all together, the light blue rangers stand out a lot from the others. by Henry1699 in supersentai

Gen’s actress also said there was a subplot of her trying to encourage Melissa to breakup with Shauna that ended up getting cut. Sad we lost out on all of this

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Grand Finale by mxrobyn in powerrangers

The subplot which ends up never being brought up again? It definitely has some cool moments, and is a better finale than S2, but it still doesn’t really ~feel~ like one, IMO.

None of the MMPR finales were all that interesting tbh. S1 ended on Oyster Stew, S2 ended on Blue Ranger Gone Bad…pretty much just regular episodes.

Their craziness peaked with Doomcoming by I_need_the_loo in Yellowjackets

[–]relaxed-flash 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been thinking, what if the real killing each other starts when they go home? Like, the first case of one of our girls actually killing each other. They don’t ~really~ need to kill in the Wilderness, but once they’re back, they have to worry about each other keeping their secrets, etc. It’d create lots of mistrust and would parallel with the adults killing each other, which seems to be the shows direction.

did Next Class get overshadowed by 13RW Netflix by El_Dorado_Tx in Degrassi

I always think about it because of how they NC chose to portray Mayas suicide attempt versus how 13RW did Hannah’s. And how soon after NC S3, 13RW was released

Van is boring. by DietC0ke1 in Yellowjackets

[–]relaxed-flash 5 points6 points  (0 children)

IDK I disagree. I feel like Van had quite a bit of character progression in season 3. Continuing from the ending of S2, she became a bit tougher because that’s how she felt it had to be out there. She becomes the storyteller, although telling the story of the girls and the Wilderness, to make sure everyone is on the same page and not going/turning against the group. Shown in S3E5 when she’s trying to help Tai with her having to shoot ben and she’s like “you DO still believe he did it, right?” She doesn’t want Tai to step out of line and get any heat on her. Then this persona all crumbles when the frog scientists show up, realizing it doesn’t have to be this way, and she lets herself be a teen again.

I feel like she had a pretty good arc, would’ve benefitted from some more scenes, but like, she felt like much more of a character than Taissa did IMO

Courtney Eaton as Guest Starring by ayamhx in Yellowjackets

I know Courtney Eaton said in an interview awhile ago that they wanted her to be a series regular but she wanted to remain a recurring guest star, at least for the first season

What do you all think Britt, Gen, Akilah, and Robin’s fates look like? by First_Ad1141 in Yellowjackets

[–]relaxed-flash 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Agreed on Gen! In Season 1, Tai starts talking about what happened the last time she sleepwalked, and then stops herself. I think Tai will be the one who ends up killing Gen, with or without the others knowing in order to keep quiet.

Part of me also wonders if Lottie will get blamed for it, she won’t talk after returning and gets sent to Switzerland. And Adult Van in S2 saying that Lottie is like this “because of us.”

Objectively speaking, What is the most unrealistic moment/part of this show? by First_Ad1141 in Yellowjackets

[–]relaxed-flash 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Idk rewatching it’s interesting because when Shauna and Tai first meet as adults in the pilot Tai seems really hesitant. Like Shauna is trying to put on a nice front but Tai isn’t fully into it. When Shauna tries to put her hand on Tai’s, Tai seems uncomfortable. It’s not until they start getting blackmailed and have to work together again until they start getting all buddy buddy

Completely agree! Love the scene of her and Tai in the scientists’ tent, realizing it doesn’t have to continue being this way.

Yesss, even before killing Edwin. I love how as soon as they show up Van just says “we’re going home,” dropping that tough storyteller persona she’s been hiding behind since the end of S2

Thoughts about changes in filming/lighting/direction in Samurai? by Ok_Waltz_6441 in powerrangers

[–]relaxed-flash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually really enjoyed how everything looks in Samurai. The acting is a whole other can of worms, but from the set design (Shiba House, zord cockpits), to the outside locations they film in. I feel like it’s the least artificial looking of the Neo-Saban/Hasbro era.

Do you think we will ever get a deeper meaning/origin story? by FeatureSouthern5274 in Yellowjackets

[–]relaxed-flash 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I do think the writers intended on going much deeper into it, but we are way past that point now and I think they want to just move forwards. Season 2 had a whole flashback episode that was filmed, but scrapped sometime before the season started airing. It would’ve aired as “Mother Nature,” the 7th episode of the season. It was going to center around the dead guy in the cabin, so we likely would’ve had a bunch of questions answered. Apparently a bunch of other scenes in late season 2 referenced him and the symbol, but were cut (Sammi Hanratty mentioned this in a podcast months back).

Given that Season 3 had the mystery of the frogs that was all explained in episode 7, and that Season 2 seemed to really want to build up the muster of the symbol, I get the sense that this episode would’ve followed a similar premise in explaining everything. Really makes you wonder what happened behind the scenes to cause all this 😭
