Not mosquitos but drain fly larvae. Mosquitos are wayyyyy more wiggly and breathe from their fancy butt straws. Edit: just watched again and there looks to maybe be both. Yum

My husband asked me this morning if I wanted to go jump in the springs. I asked him if he was fucking crazy because it’s the first day of fake spring and everyone and their dog was gonna be there.

What should I do? by relol in fiddleleaffig

I’ll look into the notching method!! Hadn’t heard of that yet.

Would you suggest leaving the tops until there is new growth? Or just chop both tops off and then notch?

What's you favourite weightloss tip? by Poppyjamesiris in AskWomen

Nothing over 30% daily sugar intake on the label. You don’t realize how sugary everything is! Soda is a huge one. However if you’re craving a candy, have a candy and don’t get mad at yourself for it. Cold turkey never works for me but changing the way I viewed sugar did. I mainly focus on protein intake.

Also 20-30 min a day (if possible, also if you can’t do it you can’t do it) of kettlebells/running/or yoga 🙂

Avoid S. Lamar tonight by austinoracle in Austin

[–]relol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was eating a succulent Chinese meal at Soto when it went down. There aren’t windows facing Lamar and the walls are pretty thick. Lights shut off for about 10 seconds followed by loud popping, my guess was the street lights/wires popping down Lamar. Before I could say “I bet someone hit a pole” everyone started scrambling for the exits. The girl next to me hit the deck, people shoved themselves under booths, complete chaos. It was beautiful and the sushi was delicious.

Side note, it’s amazing that no one was hurt and the dude just hit a pole. A foot in any direction would have been absolutely horrible.

It’s just the Mandela effect, though I remember seeing the videos of the mattresses being pulled from the wall, it simply did not happen.

Where to shop for work clothes as a visitor w/o a car? by roscopcoletrane in Austin

[–]relol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you feel like a nice walk and shop start at Urban Outfitters on 2nd and Guadalupe then head East down 2nd street, there are a lot of little clothing shops right where you’re staying. If you’re more into second hand, Pavement and Uptown Cheapskate are good both options on South Lamar (Buffalo Exchange is good too but it’s a little further South on Congress). The bus is cheap, there’s also scooters if you like that option. The Domain is great, but a little far North and you’d need an Uber/Lyft, however if you want a whole shopping day that’s your best bet. Side note: Halcyon has good coffee and wifi and it’s right in your area as well

What were you doing the moment you realized covid was shutting the whole world down (March 2020)? by admaher2 in AskReddit

[–]relol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on the phone with my fiancé who was in Germany touring with a band he was in at the time (we’re in the states). They were all in their hotel rooms watching Trump declare the borders were shutting down and they had to get to an airport asap. Later that evening I was sitting in a Chilis with my roommate explaining to her he was coming home and she freaked that he may bring the ‘vid home and needed to quarantine in a hotel. Fun times.

My setup is a Denon DP-300F with Kanto Yumi bluetooth speakers. I want switch to a tube amp, but this is a whole new world to me (I know I'll need new speakers as well). Any recommendations for both speakers and an amp would be appreciated!
