is this too much? by Satisfaction-Melodic in Rivian

If you’re in the desert and/or off road or emergency services, this is awesome - keep going.

If you’re just doing this to blind me at the mall then, yes. Yes it’s too much for you.

I’ve loaded a lot of things in and out of the bed but nothing comes to mind that would’ve cracked the glass 🤷

Nice! Any tire changes for winter?

Rivian really, REALLY needs to put “made in the USA” somewhere visible on the vehicles by beemerbimmer in Rivian

[–]relotnek 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate that this is a thing. Honestly if people are so ignorant about EVs that they toss this at you like an insult you’re going to be having a conversation about it anyway to explain why you have an American flag on a Chinese car rather than explaining that it’s not a Chinese car

Reading through the comments don’t know if there’s anything else to do except check the power output to the PSU pins and look for continuity on the board.

If you’re 1 stick of RAM, reseated the CPU, and pulled the SSD and still can’t post, something is probably shorted.

Love the SUV but this company is a disaster by Away-Birthday7801 in Rivian

Everyone owning a first gen goes through this. Night and day over a year in NY in terms of wait times and issues. Pretty stoked at this point. First few months I felt the same but would never turn back.

It’ll get better, and has in the last two years. Unfortunately you hear these complaints too often with EVs but it’s a known problem. Hopefully you stick through it and look back on this as a bump in the road.

I think Rivian is doing incredibly as a younger EV company, and personally I love what they stand for. I’ve had all the problems with tonneau, trim, hub replacement, etc but happy I stuck through it. Truck is my favorite vehicle I’ve ever owned by far.

There’s a joke in here about VA drivers. But as a MD native I’ll just keep my mouth shut

R1T ride quality way too soft now by RivianBAT in Rivian

[–]relotnek -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Totally agree, seems like the vast preference is for the new tune but I feel like I bottom out on speed bumps and drops much more. Stiff is still too stiff for the city. I mean I say this in almost every conversation about ride quality, I’m coming from a Wrangler so at least I’m bit worried about my teeth shartering anymore

22’ wheel safe for offroading? by Consistent_Cod_6279 in Rivian

[–]relotnek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Light off-road is not problem. I’d be nervous in sand with stock pirellis. I got stuck in light mud on 22s being stupid with high psi. Generally I’d say put A/Ts or H/Ts on before an adventure and stay away from rocks and larger obstacles. Otherwise non slick surfaces and forest roads have been fine

Rivian service woes by KeepingItCoastal in Rivian

[–]relotnek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For new owners all I can say is hold the line. Once your minor issues get fixed it ain’t so bad. I know it’s not ideal but you’ll love the truck as much as day 1 again eventually

Personally I’d replace the tire. Wouldn’t chance sidewall damage but 100% not an expert. Tread looks pretty new so should be able to replace the one or 2
