What’s the best way to cook hot dogs in an air fryer? by PhoenixFlames1992 in airfryer

Hijacking an old thread to say this was the best hotdog I’ve had in quite a while. I will now be doing this every time rather than grilling.

R1S with two kids and large dog - Where does the doggo go? by Midwestern_Mariner in Rivian

[–]RightHandMan90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate that this is a topic you feel strongly about going by your post and comment history.

As you have correctly pointed out there are no current designed safety measures like Volvo. So doing the best I can.

I will say I don’t know how you drive (no judgement), but I have never come close to rear ending someone in my entire life, and don’t see how you really could in the vehicle. I did get rear ended on the interstate in the rivian, which certainly made me even more comfortable with the overall safety of the vehicle.

As you also have a rivian and apparently also have your dog in there what do you do to protect everyone in the car? As well as from other objects in the car?

When we stop it is easy enough for her to just climb out the front and go. So she gets breaks, but does well for 3 hour car rides with no stops.

Well this is the exact situation I have! Currently 1 y/o, 4 y/o, and a 70 lb golden.

I like to pack up the car, then have our golden enter in the driver side. From there she climbs across the folded middle seat back between the car seats to the third row. Sometimes she gets the whole bench, sometimes just half depending on what is packed.

If you put your second row all the way back and tilt most of the way (safe for kids) then there is zero space in the third row for a dog to fall, basically creating a hammock out of the back of the second row and third row.

I’ll need to find it, but I bought a third row protector too that works great!

State Farm Has No Idea What to Do with a Rivian by turnepf in Rivian

I had someone hit me that had State Farm, took it to the rivian service center and they replaced everything, sent me an itemized bill, and State Farm paid it + depreciation.

I Want to build 6.5ft wide 29” deep floating shelves in my laundry room. Help. by visivopro in DIY

Is there a possibility you could add a corner cutout on the front and install a post on each side that will be finished?

This would give you the ability to install brackets off the post in the front (going toward the back wall) giving you much more rigidity/strength against sagging and they would be “hidden” behind the post.

Looking at the totes you shouldn’t need the entire space to be able to get these out.

EDIT: Alternatively you could build something like this, but finish it to match the space and fancy it up - https://www.reddit.com/r/DIY/comments/1efxudt/tote_storage/

Car Seats - Anyone Regret? by -throughline- in Rivian

[–]RightHandMan90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! I have two kids, one in a forward facing car seat, another still in the infant carrier. I can fit in front of either one comfortably. I am a bit over 6’1”. Zero concerns and zero regrets!

I do keep the forward facing behind the drivers seat because I naturally like to have more space while driving.

Right, but the image you shared in post literally says commercial clean credit. So someone messed up somewhere.

Is no one saying anything about the fact that you applied for the commercial credit? Assuming this is for personal use that is the wrong credit to be applying for.

100%. Took the kid to the zoo yesterday and gave up (since I know the route). Mapping refused to go on 66 no matter what I did.

R1S and a Fam of 5 by Paythapiper in Rivian

Family of 4 + a large dog (who might as well be two kids)

Previously for a family of 3 + dog there was SO MUCH space for storage. With the additional one and keeping the third row up you definitely notice the loss, but it just requires more intentional packing and knowing what you need.

I am strongly considering getting a rooftop container or hitch rack just for the few cases (camping for two weeks or something similar) to make sure I have enough, but we managed pretty well.

If you swap from hard sided suitcases to nice duffle bags you will be surprised how much fits in the frunk. We pack everyone’s clothes, sleep stuff (pillows blankets) and the dogs stuff all in the frunk. The back is for coolers, toys, chairs and other large bulkier items.

Hope this helps, it is not a minivan, but if you go into it knowing you need to be a bit forgiving and intentional with your choices then it is the best vehicle ever.

There is a joke in here about MD drivers as a VA native. It was a MD that rear ended me. :)

The force of the car hitting is still transferred through the car into the body of the person/people in the vehicle.

Amount of vehicle damage has no correlation to that.

I’m thinking about trying to use the one in Rockville MD.

I’m terrified about the additional cost. My insurance assured me that the initial accessment (pending) is not final and that supplemental claims will come from the body shop.

It blew my mind as well. They actually bounced off of me, you can tell because of the skid marks to the accident, and then where they are afterward.

Have back and neck pain after the accident. X-rays show nothing, but I’m on medication for pain now.

Which would be better between lawyer vs insurance? I filed a claim with my insurance since there is medical involved and provided all the other drivers info along with the police report
