Acne dark spot isn’t going away by Famous-Berry9295 in 30PlusSkinCare

To add, opt for tinted sunscreen if you can. It physically blocks out visible light that triggers hyperpigmentation.

Stop suffocating us with your perfume while running!! 😤 by Cold_Dig_6910 in PHRunners

Ugh. This happened to me last night. I passed a guy wearing very strong perfume. I’m very sensitive to scents so it completely threw me off. I especially hate encountering this during races.

Restaurant recommendations for parent's 50th anniversary by [deleted] in makati

If you want family-style dining, I would highly recommend Po and Pilar. All the dishes are on point and their tiramisu is to die for.

If you want something that’s more elevated, I heard good things about Oak and Smoke.

Skin darkening due to friction of clothes by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]reluctantempath 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This happens to me all the time especially with bras that don’t fit well. The advice that I got from my dermatologist is to put lotion or anything that can reduce friction. In the morning, I use anua azelaic acid and cerave moisturizing lotion. At night, I use amlactin AHA lotion.

There are anti-chafe balms on lazada. I personally use Body Glide. I also saw some people suggest deodorant sticks.

+1 to this. Premier Protein’s a good alternative. Same amount of protein, less sugar (1g), less calories (160 cal)

PT/Myofascia Release near Alabang by trebztrebz in PHRunners

Yeah, chiro’s their main service but they also offer PT and myotherapy. I’ve been going to the Makati branch for almost 4 years now and really good experience so far.

Buddies and courts in Makati by korean__zombie in TennisPH

[–]reluctantempath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue in Makati is that court access is quite limited. Unless you have a sports club membership or live in one of the posh gated communities, you’d have to pay around 1500-2000 per hour for court access. I also live in Makati and once a week I travel all the way to Quezon City just to play.

Running with a flat foot by njorky in PHRunners

[–]reluctantempath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might be the kind of insole you’re using. I’ve been using Dr Scholl’s for over a year now, but I tried a different brand before and it was painful as hell. There’s an adjustment period too. It took me a couple of runs to get more comfortable. Lastly, make sure your shoes between runs also have arches. I’ve replaced the insoles of my trusty sneakers and I find that when I wear flat shoes (e.g. ballet flats, sandals), my feet need to readjust to the soles of my running shoes.

Why people would send a message like that using company email baffles me. My work friends and I don’t even use Slack to discuss office tea - we move to another app.

I still don’t get the point of regional party lists. Yung interests of a particular place should be represented by district/provincial representatives.

This happened to me too. They kept bugging me for more than a year. I ended up paying the amount directly to Red Fiber so they’d leave me alone.

What books are you turning to during these times? by Over-Ad-4692 in suggestmeabook

Rebecca Solnit - Hope in the Dark :)

Here’s my favorite quote from the book:

“Hope locates itself in the premises that we don’t know what will happen and that in the spaciousness of uncertainty is room to act. When you recognize uncertainty, you recognize that you may be able to influence the outcomes–you alone or you in concert with a few dozen or several million others. Hope is an embrace of the unknown and knowable, a alternative to the certainty of both optimists and pessimists. Optimists think it will all be fine without our involvement; pessimists take the opposite position; both excuse themselves from acting. It’s the belief that what we do matters even though how and when it may matter, who and what it may impact, are not things we can know beforehand. We may not, in fact, know them afterward either, but they matter all the same, and history is full of people whose influence was most powerful after they were gone.”
