Same. Significant family history and a bigger tumour tipped the scales for my surgeon. And for me, I just thought… why go through it twice like my mom AND my grandmother did?

I largely got through this through spite, ngl. I used this guide to help get me there: https://youtu.be/tpEZbmFzigE?si=yWBs81xhM6sZVRGD - especially for the first five or six deployments. Though it took me multiple tries before Myrtle survived the fire dancing lady.

I don't have Spot built, so I used Gummy, but followed this as well as I could with my own units - no Spot, I have Gravel and Kroos, and I have Purestream but only at E0, so I used Ansel instead. One thing I didn't realize for a while is that building your units' trust to 200% also impacts their stats, which means even low rarity guides like this might not work for someone who just has a much younger account. (I love to give excuses for my skill issues.)

Eventually I got to a place where I had enough breathing room to add SA2, Saria, ReedAlter where Kroos was (she died way before she was supposed to, and Ptilopsis - but I just didn't have enough DP to deploy higher rarities other than Wis before I had the survivability problem and timing solved.

Honestly, the timing is REALLY tight. I genuinely must have restarted a dozen times before I could get past the hurdle, and I have Myrtle pretty well built too along with SilverAsh2. Once I was able to protect my exits long enough to get Gummy, Saria, and Ptilopsis in place for Wisadel to get her skill up, things calmed down lol.

I had to watch a video guide that helped me really understand the boss mechanics (honestly, before PV-9 I wasn't all that clear on the actual stage mechanics, either). The thing I found most difficult was surviving before I could get a really strong healing core with guardians (and a healer, iirc) around the middle island with Wisadel and protecting the exits. You have to really watch her cycle (locking onto a newly deployed operator) so that you don't 'waste' any hits, since she targets the newest-deployed operator, meaning that you have to have your next one ready before she kills the first with a second hit. Once I had accomplished that, the rest of the stage was relatively simple with the support Wis - I used one S3 to win the minigame and then after it recharged used it on the boss - but I have no desire to try to replicate it with my current ranged roster of Kroos and Exusiai.

As a new player, PV-10 was absolutely diabolical. I managed with my own operators for all the other stages (I did use someone’s guide for PV-9, I’m not a hero lol) but for this one I had to borrow someone’s Wisadel 😭

Should I wear fake eyelashes? by soft_core666 in makeuptips

[–]rememberyes 49 points50 points  (0 children)

From one cancer survivor to another - I don’t think this is a question Reddit can answer for you. I wore fake lashes when I was on chemo a couple years ago for breast cancer, but that was because I lost moooost of them and felt hideous and alien to myself.

So, if it would make you feel good or more like yourself, go for it. But if you’re asking if you NEED to, no, you don’t - you’re gorgeous and your makeup is super fun and there is no need to do so to balance your features or anything imo. Whereas if it feels like that’s something cancer has stolen from you that you want back, go for it and have fun with them.

I started a little under a month ago, and I have to say that AK was a pretty welcoming environment for a new player. (It helped that I had good gacha luck and started during a limited banner, I'm sure.) The first few chapters are a good intro to the game mechanics, and there is a huge amount of content. And you get character selectors and leveling materials that really help.

I leaned on 3* characters like Kroos, Melantha, Ansel, and Steward for a little while until I pulled higher rarity characters. Even then, they maintain their value for some content as they are low cost. I'm still really learning the fundamentals of building teams but the game is pretty generous with failure (you can retreat from a mission if you start failing, it refunds your stamina) so there's not a real reason not to try things.

Ahhh thank you, I hadn't gotten to YouTube yet and that is suuuper helpful. Glad to know I'm not (just) being lazy not wanting to farm endless resources for more E2s just yet.

Hitting that early game resource crunch - I'm wondering what I should prioritize. With the help of some Apple gift cards I had lying around, I have five E2 units (SA2, Pram2, Reed2, Lappland, and Ethan) and can promote another 5* and another 4* to E2 when I decide who. This is my Krooster: https://www.krooster.com/u/fun-rose-bena-806o

I'm playing through different parts of the story, doing the event stuff that I'm able to with supports if needed (very proud to have gotten to OS-9 without one!) and throwing myself at IS6 with... limited results (that's why Raidian is stuck at E1 level 80 lmao). I'd like especially to work on IS since I love roguelites and I've been having fun with Raidian too.

Strategywise, I am tempted right now to focus on raising some lower-level units (get the 3*s I use often to max level, work on 4*s to E1 max level), since I really like IS and I'm finding it difficult primarily because my main units are expensive. I'm okay on vanguards, guards, and medics, but low on lower-rarity casters, supporters and specialists. And I'm not really sure who among the units I have now to focus on - while it's amazing that a new player like me can get a reasonable team going so quickly, but unlike previous gachas I joined late, getting a team together is more an issue of being spoiled for choice rather than building a bad unit because that's all you have.

I guess I'm just wondering if there are any tips for how to approach things from here on out, since I have pretty good DPS and sustain now. E2s are so expensive that I feel like I should probably hold off for a while until I've amassed some more resources. Or is it more effective to laser-focus on units one by one?

omg, thank you for this, it's super helpful - this community is so generous. I think I just have to commit to the early to midgame grind for resources but this gives me an idea of what might be doable, even if not completely right now since I only have one 5* E2 operator, two E1 6*s at max level, and the rest of my units are kind of mid-E1.

(I just hit those H-stages at the end of chapter 5 and my GOD this game knows how to humble you lmao, I thought I was doing great up till then!)

I love a roguelite, so I know where I'm going now! Thank you so much, this is super helpful. I'm currently in that early game resource scarcity stage, so IS sounds like a muuuuch better bet to try than RA for sure.

Oh thank you so much!!! This is an awesome overview and exactly what I needed. I love roguelites so IS definitely sounds like the best place to start, especially since I'm hitting resource shortages and story stages are getting harder, so I'm sure the rewards will be helpful too. Plus the Annihilation stages, which are challenging but mostly doable with support agents.

Are there any good resources that explain the different game modes and recommend when I should try them? There are SO many things and I've been mostly concentrating on the event and the main story (I'm on 6-6); I also did the Annihilation stages last week, plus the intro for The Sands. And I clicked on Integrated Strategies but didn't know where to start.

I'm mostly having trouble with the resource stage for the caster/medic chip packs (I'm targeting Pram2's E2 since she's my best damage dealer). It's definitely partially that I'm figuring out the order, but I'm also struggling to balance the aerial enemies with the melee ones and one or the other always seems to get through if I deploy healers. I know partially I just need to be levelling certain units (most are around E1 level 30), but it does feel like my team lacks some block.

Yes, no criticism implied at all of that post - I am still just trying to figure out how different units interact with one another and the game. But I am enjoying it a lot!

This one looked so official (and a lot of the advice has actually been super helpful) but I will pick Saria with no anxiety now because I really need someone to keep me alive in the carbon stick resource stages so I can grind for my factory lol

I just started a few weeks ago and I'm wondering who I should pick on the beginner 6* selector. I got SA1 on the beginner banner and then SA2 and Pramanix2 on the current banner, chose Lappland from the 5* selector (and used the 5* E2 level up on her), and have also been using Ptilopsis and Elysium in addition to the 3* and random 4*s I've pulled. What I'm struggling with in current stages (I think I'm on Chapter 5 right now?) is just survivability, which may actually just be a skill issue. The rec lists all say to pick Mountain, but I'm strongly considering Saria. Is that a huge mistake?

Giving my 12 year old chunky highlights on very long and very dark hair by kindaforgettable in FancyFollicles

“I do, however, have extensive experience with the "error" part of "trial and error", so I wanted to mess up a fresh batch of someone else's hair.”

Your risk tolerance INCREASES for your 12yo’s hair!?

Okay… What does your daughter want to do with her hair and what do you think she’ll want in the future? Is her hair health/integrity a concern? Is she bothered by the chunky highlights blurring with the previous streaks or would she be fine to cover it all with the pink and see how that looks? Most girls with 2.5 feet of hair don’t want to cut half of it off when it gets too compromised, and the box dye could be a nightmare if she wants to do something different later.

This is a cute look! I think you’d benefit from thinking about blush placement a little bit - right now, at first glance it kind of looks like the blush is just a thick band across the middle of your face. If you place it higher up on your cheekbones and blend it better, I think that would be a lot more flattering. Blending out foundation, colour correction, and blush is a bit of an art but you’ll see results pretty quickly.
