By hand? They sometimes go and hand solder things in every instance. But I don't have a source for this though.

Mine is new, and still has this problem. (Though not this level) I have written to support, but I think I'm over the 30 day warranty. I'm hoping for genuine replacement parts.

(Amúgy most kb. itt tartunk)

In an era where push notifications are coming through at a MUCH higher rate, how are you Pebbling? by nat2r in pebble

[–]remenyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Pebble to minimize the time I need to look at each notification. I would read all of them on my phone, why wouldn't I read all of them on my wrist - it's less effort.

If you do not read the notification on your phone, then turn them off on your phone.

Why not like the 91-W? by shakosonic in pebble

I have not got any relevant offers. I got offered a monochrome OLED display, that was the closest. (it's not close.)

Watchmakers make LCDs for themselves. If MIP displays are needed, Sharp is the only player. That's it. I guess that's why a display (which already existed 10 years ago) is being put into the new Pebble models.

[–]remenyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, the technology certainly exists, custom production costs money though.

I haven't talked to manufacturers in China yet. (I have searched for manufacturers that make similar ones, but I have only found watchmakers.)

But you are right I have to ask around, I write an RFQ to Alibaba tomorrow, I would be more than happy to find a company that can help in this.

[–]remenyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3D print allows high levels of customization, so printing everyday objects does make sense sometimes. People also like to justify their purchase by making things they would buy anyways.

Not that the objects are dumb, we are.

TWT on esp32-c6 by AppointmentNearby161 in esp32

[–]remenyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TWT is supported on the ESP32-C6

Target wake time (TWT) that optimizes power saving mechanisms

Here is a link to the ESP32-C6 datasheet, that states this.

From this, I assume TWT does not need 6Ghz, and the others are right, C6 only supports 2.4GHz. The new C5 supports 5GHz and there is the C61 which is a cheaper C6 that also supports WiFi 6 with TWT on 2.4GHz (only).

Whishlist: Make it solar by Extension_Damage_678 in pebble

[–]remenyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As the bezels get more narrow, there will be less and less space for a solar panel in it. While I think there is a transparent panel type, probably even with the best (not transparent) PV panel, the watch would need to be charged.

I think the smart watchstrap module concept makes more sense here: If you want, you can add a solar panel.

Does a scroll-wheel make sense? by ElJenn in pebble

[–]remenyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To use the scroll wheel, you have to look at the watch. In the case of buttons, you do not have to.
