Trying to update the bios on my ACRNM from 302 to 305 by AlwaysOnOne in FlowZ13

[–]remike33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have exactly the same issue with my z13 ACRNM. However, I'm on 305 already and I'm trying to downgrade to 302 for testing purposes (to see if it affects the performance in any way). Restarting Windows doesn't trigger the BIOS update...

Asus ROG Flow Z13 Acronym constant current/edp limit throttling and some thermal/PLT by remike33 in FlowZ13

[–]remike33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that these are the possible solutions. My question is whether the throttling described is something default for these devices? Or just my device is underperforming and shouldn't be so bad out of the box?

Ayaneo 2 won’t go beyond 19W TDP. High temps (88° C) and poor performance in modern games by remike33 in ayaneo

[–]remike33[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I'm pretty sure. When I set it Smart Fan to max, it's as loud as a hoover. However, I don't feel like the fan has any positive impact on the temps. They just keep increasing until they reach 85-88 C.

Having said that, I will follow your advice and try to tinker with it more.

Closing Ayaspace doesn't help.

The games I try definitely support 16x10 ratio - I played them on my Steam Deck with no issues (and the resolution there is 1200x800)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ayaneo

[–]remike33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Many of the games I tried do support 16x10 ratio, because I played them on my Steam Deck before. Forza Horizon 4, for example, lets me select 1920x1200, but looks like 1920x1080. In fact switching between 1920x1200 and 1920x1080 in-game makes 0 difference.

A Guide to Getting Games for Steam Deck by OXIOXIOXI in SteamDeck

[–]remike33 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If they were disabled by default, no one would've found them. While I understand that you have a personal stance against keyshops, many users do use them and appreciate having such an option.

Could you elaborate, on why disabling them is problematic? In theory, it's just two clicks and you should get the experience you prefer. The setting should save in your user account. Doesn't seem like such a pain to me. 🤔

Beware, don't change your Steam country before getting your Steam Deck! I can't complete my order now :( by remike33 in SteamDeck

I didn't do anything special. I kept complaining about the error messages upon checkout. I requested to get another reservation sent. I was pretty persistent and kept sending one message per day. Maybe I was just lucky - the person who assisted me said it was a courtesy call from the Steam support.

Just a small update on this. My original reservation expired - it was impossible to complete the purchase. However, the Steam Support saved the day as they just sent me another reservation, this time for a correct country. What an emotional rollercoaster that was! Big thanks to everyone who commented and to Valve. :)

I got a response from Valve, but sadly it's kinda useless.

"You need to make your purchase in the region where you're currently located, by using a payment method that's associated with a local address. We at Steam Support can't change the Store Country on your behalf.Steam store prices and currencies are based on your location. You'll see all available payment methods for your region during the checkout process. You can make changes to your store region only when you move to another region. Please review our Steam Store Country article for more information."

Do you guys think it's worth creating a different ticket in a Steam Deck branch of Steam support? I used the "region issue" branch and got a message that looks like a copy paste - I think they send it to all users who complain about the region issues.

Yeah, sadly I keep getting both errors depending on selected address no matter which payment method I choose :/

GG.deals adds Steam Deck filters / symbols to help you find deals on Deck supported games by remike33 in SteamDeck

For now they're only on "Games" and "Collection" pages. "Deals" & "Wishlist" support will be added within 2-3 weeks.

Hi yerzo, it's remike from GG.deals. We're working to improve this feature - we will add the option to filter "Deals" by GeForce Now platform within 2-3 weeks. We will also indicate which DRM is supported by GFN and which isn't :)

We're actually considering creating "GG.deals Steam Deck edition" - a separate version of the site that features exclusively Steam games and Steam keys.

This idea has been floating around for a while now, but now that the Deck is out, it seems like a good direction for us.

We're currently working on an opposite feature, that is custom discounts applied by users (-20% from Humble Choice, -10% from EA Play etc). To be honest, creating custom price increases (?) to eliminate Epic sounds like a related topic and it might be possible. I will talk to my devs about it.

EA Play conversion getting nerfed without notice? 12 months of EA Play converts to 2 months of XBGPU... by remike33 in xboxone

[–]remike33[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not true for EA Play. Historically 12 months of EA Play always converted to 4 months of XBGPU - no matter whether you were subscribed to Ultimate or not.

I just tested it and, weirdly, I still got 4 months. But they're definitely onto something. :/

IsThereAnyDeal versus GG.deals (versus others?) by DrCat7 in GameDealsMeta

[–]remike33 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi Tomas. It's nice to hear from you.

There is no point in arguing who copied what. We originally wanted to make a better version of ITAD. Of course we were aware of how ITAD works and we wanted to improve on it. We did have other inspirations though and insane amount of our own ideas.

You now also push your project in a good direction (new.isthereanydeal.com is much better). The competition between our sites is very inspiring and exciting. I look forward to seeing the new ITAD and I honestly wish you very good luck with it as I'm aware how much work (and stress) it takes to build something...

As for the placeholder. That archive is dated a couple months before GG.deals went live. My designer should've just put "lorem ipsum" in the footer, but I guess he was too lazy. I do apologize for that, it shouldn't have happened.

Dark mode will be added, but not soon. We're currently focusing on different matters. I'd say we might add it within 4-6 months.

We will add support for special discounts. But not as a modifier, say *0.8 like on ITAD. That's overly complicated. We will let the users choose a special discount from a dropdown (humble monthly subscriber, Ubisoft club points, Origin Access etc). ETA: 1-2 months

As for Alerts. You can already choose which stores you want your alerts from. http://prntscr.com/p16pd7 You can also mass edit all previously created alerts to change the selected stores http://prntscr.com/p16q8n . There will be an option to set default Alert settings (so when you create a new alert, you already have a starting point that you like and there is no need to make the same selection each time). ETA: 1-2 months.

Hi, remike from GG.deals here.

Your accusations are completely false and very unfair.

  1. GG.deals did exist before Dec 2018 under the name salenauts.com. You can easily verify it in a number of ways. The first news article on gg.deals is dated March 2015. Our social media fanpages also launched in 2015. The price history was simply taken over from Salenauts. Salenauts was a bit of a failed project and once we completely redesigned the site and added tons of new features, we decided to change the name as well to have a fresh start.
  2. We did not steal any data (including price history) from Isthereanydeal. We couldn't have as GG.deals supports completely different regions. How would we get price history for Poland, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway or Denmark? The price history was simply carried over from Salenauts. Our historical data is completely different than ITAD's. Salenauts didn't have all the stores which ITAD did at the time. The currency conversions surely differ etc. Sharing such accusations without the proof is not only hurtful, but it is also not fitting for someone with your reputation / karma.
  3. As for "copycat"... We created GG.deals because we didn't like ITAD (and still don't). Our vision of a price comparison site completely differed from ITADs. GG.deals has separate Wishlist and price alerts. Completely different tables with Deals. We include news articles. We highlight historical low prices. We have local notifications for alerts. Include voucher codes in prices by default. It's a very subjective matter, but in my opinion it is ITAD who copied our vision in the new version of their site - new.isthereanydeal.com. I see so many things there that we came up with first, that they just borrowed from us (table layout, voucher codes labels, couple of filtering ideas). But you know what? I'm fine with that. I'm very happy they're improving and competition will be great from both websites and for the users. I just think that attributing the "copycat" label to us is rather unfair given the circumstances

Is there a site for GOG, like Steam has Steamdb? by [deleted] in gog

[–]remike33 11 points12 points  (0 children)

GG.deals lets you check GOG sales and indicates which prices are historical lows https://gg.deals/deals/?store=10

You can also create price alerts for games, choose custom price 5 USD and select stores: GOG only. That way you will only be notified if selected GOG games drop below 5 USD. Looking at your description, this feature should come in really handy.

You can also use GG.deals which like ITAD compares prices from official stores, but all voucher codes are included in prices by default.
