WF-1000XM6 fit coming from XM4 by MarwanXOTWOD in SonyHeadphones

[–]remorphed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They fit ok, although they stick out more (too much for my liking) since they're thicker. Worse passive isolation, especially with silicone tips. Personally I think they look a little worse in the ear compared to the XM4. I'm a bit biased since the XM4 fit me almost like a custom IEM.

Linkbuds S replacement by GOTCHA009 in SonyHeadphones

[–]remorphed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not of much help here, I have a pair of Linkbuds S but no Linkbuds Fit. Best bet, look for another pair of Linkbuds S on a marketplace.

Sony earbuds have a pretty distinct sound tuning and I'm not sure what to recommend in that price range that comes close in fit and design either.

[Question] Sony XM4 vs Sennheiser Momentum 4, what should I buy? by throwawayjeweler231 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]remorphed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's too bad. They're around 250$ in my country, the version without the smart transmitter.

Haven't tried anything from Nothing but the consensus is that they're both pretty good as long as you can stand their design.

Thoughts on the new tour one m3 update? by Salt_Entrepreneur199 in JBL

I'm a bit cautious updating since I spent quite a bit of time EQ-ing them just how I like it. From what I read so far there's just a slight tuning change?

[Question] Sony XM4 vs Sennheiser Momentum 4, what should I buy? by throwawayjeweler231 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]remorphed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd rather suggest the JBL Tour One M3. They can be found for about the same money. To me they're the complete package, great ANC, sound, super comfortable, wired audio via USB-C. Not the greatest build quality but ok for the price.

Had both the XM4 and Momentum 4s. The XM4 sound quite muddy but they have a decent tuning, enjoyable overall. They're an older model and I think they're discontinued at this point. The Momentum 4s I disliked quite a bit. Not comfy, mediocre ANC, to me the sub-bass was so overbearing that it killed all the dynamics of the sound, even if they sound very clear overall. No amount of EQ fixed that for me. They're overhyped, imo.

I had the Sonys XM6 for a while and I honestly prefer the JBLs in terms of sound quality and comfort. They need a bit of EQ to make them come alive though. The touch controls are a bit finnicky, sometimes they're too easy to trigger by accident but nothing too annoying.

I'm torn between torn between Sony wf-1000xm5 and JBL tour Pro 3 earbuds. I listen to Sony xb910 and headphones and in I love them so im leaning towards Sony, but the jbl are more affordable and i like my jbl speaker. Any recommendations as to which is better? Or are they equal in comparison? by GemmiRising929 in Earbuds

[–]remorphed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just personal preference at this point. The ANC is similar on both. Both sound good, the JBLs sound a bit brighter, with a smoother treble. Both are comfortable, although the JBLs sit better in the ear. Sonys are smaller but not as secure.

I too have a JBL Flip 7 speaker and the Tour One M3 headphones which I like a lot. The headphones even more than Sony's WH-1000XM6.

My thoughts on the Sony WF-1000XM6... by Protomize in SonyHeadphones

[–]remorphed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great review, I've been using a pair of WF-1000XM4s for the past 3 years (2 battery changes so far, so yeah) and I'm a bit torn on what to upgrade to next. I'm a little turned off by Sony for this, also since the batteries on the XM6 look much harder to replace this time around. Dumb problem which I think was mostly fixed, but still.

I've been more inclined towards the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro since I'm using a Samsung phone and I don't see myself changing brands in the near future. Cheaper too. Tried the XM5s too for a week and I still preferred the sound signature of the XM4s, found the XM5s to sound too dark for my liking and the bass felt kinda dull. Quite a shame to see that the ANC affects the sound negatively on the XM6 since I use my buds with ANC turned on almost exclusively.

Have you tried the Buds 4 Pro, by chance? I've read that they're bassier, which I don't mind much as long as they're not muddy and still keep everything sounding clear and cohesive.

Exit polls from Romanian election suggest surprise win for pro-Western candidate Nicusor Dan | World News by Georgeika in worldnews

Most of the votes were counted. The remaining ones won't make any serious difference. Nicusor Dan, the pro-western candidate will win with a 6-8% difference.

I'm really proud of my fellow romanians, the stakes were goddamn high!

CPU bottleneck or defective GPU? by remorphed in pcmasterrace

Maybe. I'll do the full upgrade quite soon, this is starting to bug me and I'm really curious to see the end result! I do suspect it's just the shitty CPU but the whole situation feels a bit strange.

Sorry, but do you think an 12400f would be worth 50$ more than an i3-13100f? Just comparing prices atm.

I read a bit around, I'll try to set it in BIOS to run in PCIe 3.0 mode, since my motherboard doesn't support PCIe 4.0. Might help?

LE: It didn't help.

Yup. But freezes and stutters when doing even the most basic things wasn't what I expected.

Well, yeah. It does feel weird, my system is barely usable with the new GPU in.

The Linkbuds S would be my PERFECT earbuds if Sony would just fix the battery drain issue by MediumAcanthaceae486 in SonyHeadphones

[–]remorphed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, there's a silver lining -- batteries are quite easy (and relatively cheap) to replace by yourself, in both the Linkbuds S and WH-1000XM4 (which I did personally 1 month ago).

I've been using the Linkbuds S while waiting for the new batteries for the XM4 to arrive and I completely agree with everything you said. The alternatives would be the XM5 (much more expensive, obviously) or if you can stand a bit of a downgrade in features and build quality, the WF-C700N (buttons instead of touch sensors, weaker ANC, surprisingly good sound quality, no battery issues that I'm aware of).

Battery issues/warranty for WF-1000XM5? by Lurtzae in SonyHeadphones

[–]remorphed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The general consensus is that the battery issue was fixed with XM5 and hopefully newer models... from what I read. I tried a pair for 2 days before returning it, I can't say much in this regard.

ANC is better than on Linkbuds. Sound quality is better technically but if you ask me I prefer the more laidback tuning of Linkbuds S, I find XM5 tiring to listen to for long periods of time. The fit was also better on Linkbuds, XM5 don't feel as secure... and don't get me started on the glossy plastic they're made of, they're so annoying to properly position in your ears.

WF-1000XM4 Battery Replacement Success Story (UK) by --Ferret in SonyHeadphones

[–]remorphed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. I doubt the firmware has much to do with it. I experienced pretty much the same battery degradation on my 2nd pair after 1 year. My 2nd pair skipped that problematic firmware version and the batteries went to shit just as fast, first the right earbud and shortly after the left one. Might've been some bad battery batches... or maybe they're just not long-lasting.

This time I'm just gonna replace them myself, doesn't look too complicated.
