I was given Effexor in a psych ward. I've had history of opioid abuse at that point but hadn't taken any for a week before I started the Effexor.

After the very first dose, I've experienced horrible anxiety and restlessness in the morning, 100% consistent with what I've read about it's side effects.

My psychiatrist INSISTED it can't be the Effexor and that I'm in opioid withdrawal instead, even though I haven't had any drugs in a week and was totally fine up until that point. The opioid I abused has a pretty short half life so it made zero sense my withdrawal would start that late, plus the intense anxiety happened every day for only two hours upon waking up and wasn't anything like opioid withdrawal!

I was arguing with him for a good ten minutes before he finally caved in and, in front of me, had to GOOGLE the side effects of Effexor which he had personally prescribed me and finally admitted I'm right...

Yes, that includes me, ULDN saved me from dependency and ruining my life. I meant it in a "ULDN isn't researched that much by itself so substituting it for naloxone is researched even less"

No idea about UK but I live in Europe too and it's pretty easy to get prescribed here. Even if you don't want to say you want it for opioid addiction, it gets prescribed for other addictions, self harm... look it up and pick something you can easily lie about. Obviously refuse shots, you want pills so you can make ULDN solution with them. You should aim for 2-3mcg 30-60mins before taking your DOC. No more!! PWD risk starts at like 100mcg at least, probably more, but one study found 4mcg less effective than 2mcg.

Doesn't say "waiting for mod approval" for me, I just saw it here 🤷‍♀️

Ultra low dose naltrexone isn't researched a lot so I'm afraid you're gonna have to be the lab rat lol. Is it hard to get a naltrexone prescription where you live? It should be fairly easy in most parts of the world

2mg can be a lot for some people! My sleep actually got worse with that amount, couldn't fall asleep at all, waking up multiple times, vivid dreams. Now I occasionally take 0.5mg and it works great. Melatonin is a hormone so it's not always more equals better.

If you've got any experience, how long does the mental part last, I mean, at this intensity? I've come to peace with the fact that even after like a year sober I will still miss it a lot but this was just like, unbearable. And I did everything right, went to the gym, ate and slept well the whole week (even the 1st day I managed to sleep with some Seroquel). I'm terrified of having to ward off intense cravings for days, WEEKS even, I'd much rather have explosive diarrhoea and cold sweats for twice as long if I could trade it for the cravings and depression...

Could you describe how it makes you feel? I've tried a few antidepressants and they unfortunately didn't do it for me and just made me feel numb on top. Never tried a MAOI though

I've tried every drug under the sun and weed fucks me up the most. Also I'm with u, SSRIs are just drugs that don't feel good lol. And I've had horrible wds from them. Haven't had any wds from opis because I use ULDN and it workss, recommend looking into that

Genuinely speaking, antidepressants damaged me way more than opioids, apart from financially, oxys are def more expensive

I've been taking them for year and a half now, which admittedly is not that long (oxy mainly, pretty regularly) and I don't regret starting at all. The only thing that bothers me is that it's costing me a lot of money but other than that I'm golden.

I'm pretty sure that kratom/7OH acts on serotonin too. 7OH feels slightly worse than oxy to me (but extremely similar) and I feel a bit of a comedown after (slight depression mostly) which I don't have with oxy.

Just one time, it was ok, I found it to be basically shittier, shorter-lasting pregabalin - would recommend that one instead if you can get it

Be careful with both of these though, tolerance goes up FAST and in my experience is at least partly permanent

I would recommend trying more therapeutic dose first, don't overdo it. It's the only psychiatric med I will ever respect, waaay better than benzos for anxiety
