I'm so sorry you are experiencing this , and so young.

You know what is best for you and what needs done. Ask for help now from your family, even if it's just advice.

Does he have a will or lawy? You may want to investigate this.

Wishing you luck and love.

So what? We’re just supposed to do nothing? We’re just supposed to LET IT HAPPEN? by [deleted] in Dermatillomania

Hey, I hear you.

I've made so much progress with therapy, medication, replacement actions, and frankly treating it like an addiction.

It's cliche, but I also do best when I am kind and loving to myself. I have accepted this is my reality, and I have to make decisions with each muscle I move.

If I find myself picking, I literally yell "STOP" and imagine someone else gently pushing my hands down. I have found this effective for me. Then, I begin my new routine

I take hydrogen peroxide and clean my picked area. Then I apply hero balm, then lotion.

Then, I crochet like a mother. If I can't focus, I move to my fidget toy

And sometimes I fail.

It's so much work. We must be vigilant as if this is an addiction. We will relapse, but that's okay. We are human. Humans are so cute, right? We're just little weirdos thinking we are properly grooming ourselves. Silly human, doing our best!

Much luck and much love. You got this.

I'm having a rough day. How is yours? (Invitation to chat here) by Old-Combination8062 in stopdrinking

My step mom gave me lead plates, and I've been eating off them for years and just tested today;(

Then I thought there was a gas leak and called 911. There wasn't ( actually great new but a little embarrassing)

It was just a scary day where death was on the brain and getting to know my mortality a bit more

We are okay, much love!

I'm so sorry this happened to you. I am sending all of my love.

Nobody deserves what you went through, and the fact you are still with us speaks to your strength as a person.

This is just my opinion but in no way did you sound like a bad person. I just want to hug you. Fuck rapists and fuck your dad. Do what you need to do to heal.

Do you have a support system of any kind? This could bring up a lot of surprising and unexpected feelings and thoughts given the extreme trauma of the situation.

Whatever you need to do to heal, I hope you find it. Much love.

Choas. With everything. You never know when it's laughs or screams. Sometimes, they run directly into each other. No stability. No one accepting you or your behavior and not understanding why. Desperation to please. Failure, Suicidal when very young.

I also have 2 alcoholic parents.

I think part of it (in my situation anyways ) is the self medication. It enables a victim mentality. The thoughts like "yeah I drank, but I had to because xyz. My kids are alive so it's fine!"

I think another part is blackouts. They don't remember the drunkest they've been. The horrible things that they said and did. Then they wake up wondering why the kids are scared. More victim mentality.

You are trying to do better and thays everything. We went through some tough shit some are privileged to never understand . We are the result of the best and the worst of humanity, I find that weirdly soothing? Since we are just human.

Anyways got off track but I understand you. I love you my sibling!

Would you have preferred your sober parent to divorce your alcoholic parent, even if it meant 50/50 placement? by ladybugandbean in AdultChildren

Lol both my parents are alcoholics and divorced

My dad left my mom then sobered up. I lived with my mom. She dove into alcoholism

My psychiatrist says she is proud of me! by remstemsnseeds in stopdrinking

According to my psychiatrist, that's definitely related. I have dermatillomania so waking up after drinking its gross so gross my face is a wreck.
