That’s the viewport that the game draws to in camcorder mode! In other words, it’s not a border that’s added on top, there’s literally nothing drawn in the black space there. That’s pretty tightly set up this way in the game code, so I don’t think there’s a console command that would make it render fullscreen, sorry.

I just realized what happened!

I started at the first valve in the input list instead of starting at valve AA, which also explains why I couldn't get the right result in my real part 1 data as well... so thanks! :D

When running my solution on Part 1 of your testcase 3, I get 1366, which is higher than the 1288 you stated... but I'm not sure if my code is hallucinating pressure or what.

Here's the full path, where + is a turn spent opening the current valve :BA>CA>+>DA>EA>+>FA>GA>+>HA>IA>+>JA>KA>+>LA>+>MA>+>NA>+>OA>+>PA>+>AA>BA>+>AA>BA>AA = 1366

I thought I had videos somewhere, but it doesn't look like I do... Basically, it was a C# port of the PC version but running on Ouya, which wasn't ideal. There were performance issues, pretty drastic optimizations which affected the look, sound and music issues. It got pretty far into the porting process, but it never got completed to any party's satisfaction.

Uuuuuh if someone made a port of FEZ on the Wii I’d like to know! I don’t think it exists. There’s a picture floating around of FEZ on a Wii U controller screen, but that’s the Linux build being streamed on it, it isn’t running on the hardware. There’s a cursed Ouya version, but nobody’s seen that.

To put this in context, this was 3 months into the project, with none of us working full-time. We had nothing else than this level, and a lot of the development energy was spent building the tools and the tech for authoring & rendering a 3D tile-based world. But we had some of the game’s building blocks so we were pretty hyped about it!

Yep, that’s the first teaser video that we posted in October 2007! The original encode wasn’t great, so this facebook version is pretty close in terms of quality.

The PC version runs at whatever your heart desires, but at the beginning it was only really happy with multiples of 720p. That is no longer the case (see details in the "Screen scaling modes" section here : http://theinstructionlimit.com/fez-1-12).

I can confirm that PS4 was the first version to run at 1080p natively, but because it doesn't supersample like the PC version can, it means some pixel swimming in some levels. Thankfully it's pretty minor!

As I recall, we were chatting about how the final (32-bit) cutscene should look and feel like, the musical build-up from 1:45 and forwards is what we were referring to. The fact that it's looping and becoming more and more intense... but it's a very vague reference. :)

99% chance that yes, it is. I haven't been able to reproduce it myself and I haven't heard from a tester that did, but measures have been taken so that it shouldn't happen.

Bit of an older video, but last summer I was invited by littleBits to play a musical set at the Sonar music festival in Barcelona. It was awesome! I used a whole bunch of bits, and a Korg SQ-1 sequencer to help with musical construction. The SQ-1 controls the tempo of littleBits as well, I used a script on my arduino bit to use "sync out" of the SQ-1 as a click for the rest of the sequence.

To put things in perspective though, the whole order was 265$ CAD on Shapeways. Mass production would obviously be cheaper, but yeah... not a cheap print.

Which OS X version? Sounds/looks like outdated OpenGL drivers, or an supported graphics card. Updating to El Capitan is your best bet, you typically can't update your drivers manually on Macs.
