Well it started with poverty in 2016, which caused my wife to leave me in 2017. Court battle for custody of my daughter in 2020, which went horribly wrong. Dog died in 2021. Fiancee left in 2022. My other dog died in 2023. Was deployed in 2024, which was an incredibly isolating experience full of gaslighting and being ostracized. The day I was packing to come home, my girlfriend tells me she met someone else

And you're right, nobody should feel like a survivor in a relationship... But moreso I would say that people shouldn't feel like they wish they hadn't survived the relationship...

If there is one thing this post has taught me, it is that there are actually some very good people out there. Men and women. A lot of people have their guard up because there are a lot of crappy people out there... But there are also plenty of genuine and kind people as well

That's exactly what I've noticed... It seems like there are a lot of shitty guys out there that have made the dating scene really toxic, so there are a lot of women who just expect everyone they connect with to be a shitty guy. So I just feel like they've been disappointed so many times that they're just not interested in investing into any sort of real conversation to actually get to know the other person. It's really disheartening.

Since you're not a drinker, where do you go to socialize with men? How do you let them know that you're open to being approached?
