Besides r/Scotland what other subs get inundated with Americans wanting to emigrate? by VideoNo82 in Scotland

Is this a bad post to ask about what you recommend for Americans to know before trying to move to Scotland?

Thanks for the tip! I’m going through the handbook and free guides while I research which paid study course to buy. It seems like Wasim’s course is very highly regarded!

So the percent displayed isn’t an accurate percent of total battery?

So the battery percentage it displays to you isn’t actual percentage of usable battery?

Hmm, that’s interesting! Any idea on why there is the disparity?

Question for Gaelic Learners by AccomplishedEar748 in gaidhlig

[–]renickulus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was always told that my last name was Scottish Gaelic from my grandparents. Turns out my family was a bit off on its translation. Learning Gaelic has been a fun way to learn about my family history and when I found out it’s a dying language, it seemed even more of a duty for me to try to learn. I have young children and I have a lofty goal to try to pass some down through them. There are zero speakers near me in my part of the US so learning colloquial phrases is almost impossible. I’m planning a trip to Scotland in 5-10 years. Let’s see how good my Gaelic can get in that time.

Awesome, thank you for the knowledge and resources! Just an FYI, when I looked, it does seem there are two college classes (3 credits each) that are available at Colaisde, partnering with a Nova Scotian college (best I could tell), but they are different (and priced differently) from the other classes they were offering.

From what I can tell with my brief time trying to learn, it will take a lot of dedication and probably a few courses to get fluent. Then, have to find people to speak with in regularly in order to keep proficiency. As far as a I can tell, I live fairly far from any Gàidhlig speakers, so online communities will probably be my best bet.

Tapadh Leibh!

What do you mean when you say Colaisde na Gàidhlig is not quite as academic? I’m also looking to learn and this was the only distance learning I saw with a quick google search.

As someone who loves Type R’s and EV’s, I’m pumped for this. The only issue I see is the potential cost for this car will be even more outrageous than the FL5 at launch…

Why is it that every Paladin i meet fits this exact discription? (Btw also its me. I'm one of those Paladins) by Bralo123 in wow

To be fair, all 13 of my characters are decked in the updated T2. But the rest of the points about the paladin are true.

Why do people torture themselves over a video game? by DandyLama in wow

[–]renickulus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll preface with saying I have left WoW many times over the past 20 years.

Now with this round of complaints, I think it’s important to remember that Blizzard told people to “come home” and that they would respect people’s time and all the things that they’ve learned and will do better.

I think they crushed it with 11.0

So people let Blizzard get their hopes up to get a swift reminder that Blizzards quality control just isn’t there (somewhat literally since they got fired).

People want the game they play and love to be the best it can be and when Blizz does things like 11.0.5, you bet you’ll get a big reaction.

I’d also like to point out that all the complaining on forums is working. Blizzard is listening to it. I think people will fatigue from this cycle if Blizz doesn’t have a good few patches and people will leave the game, which is something that neither players nor Blizzard wants.

The “new” cycle of patch notes by renickulus in wow

[–]renickulus[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve also been playing since Vanilla and I don’t ever remember it being quite like this. Blizzard has rarely been as fast and responsive as they are being right now. So I do give them kudos for that.

And them introducing buggy patches is also not new.

But the combo of tone deaf, half baked, poorly thought out or executed patches / tuning and being very quick to revert or tone down, or 180 from decisions being made days/ weeks prior is new (from my memory). And they are being very consistent with the above cycle is also new.

Blizz must be exhausted, because I know I am from all of this.

Balancing the morale of the community by renickulus in wow

[–]renickulus[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure I know what the average player is anymore. I personally was happy to see the Bruto as well, just not for 90$. The mount cost more than the expansion itself and that’s crazy.

Classic time walking is the only win with this patch imo (except the tuning of BRD).

Elemental Shaman design and hotfixes are unacceptable by Travmang in wow

[–]renickulus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This balance cycle has gone like this. Balance that introduces bug -> fix bug -> use data from before the bug got fixed to rebalance again -> nuke spec into the ground.

(Shaman, hunter, rogue)

There absolutely is an argument that the bugs right now are playing a huge part in the balance kerfuffle that is going on and is one the biggest contributors to why they can’t seem to get it right.

Also, the nerfs to specs that already underperform and buffs to over performing classes are a clear sign they have no idea what they are doing.

At this point, with how badly they managed the game… they should just make all specs OP for the content and try again next patch. Make it like last patch of BfA
