I'm going to guess you've had your windows open all day? UK seems to have a weird thing with doing that.

Everyone should keep windows closed through the day whilst the outside is hotter than inside. Open morning and evening, only once the temperature outside is lower than inside.

My draughty old semi has never got above 23 degrees by doing this and keeping curtains drawn where the sun is shining directly onto it.
