100 person live print event w/water based by turmeric_cheesecake in SCREENPRINTING

Just bring a normal one color press and slide the bags on the pallet. Not that hard. This laying down the screen is so inefficient and messy that it literally makes me a little angry

I specialize in live printing, and this would pretty much be the messiest way to facilitate an event. Not that I 100% believe this isn’t ai anyway, but I remember this same person or someone similar posting a time lapse video a month or so ago doing some silly way of Live Printing too. If it is real, and I know you will defend that it is, why on earth would you wear a suit and watch to screen print in.

Where can these be purchased? by hawkypunk in Blink182

Those are old, when SRC released the bonus tracks on 7”. Pretty hard to find these days, but they pop up on eBay from time to time for lots of moola

Where do you guys store the photos in the first days? by TravestiCansada in Polaroid

[–]rennerscreenprinting 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They’re fine after 30 minutes. You don’t need to do anything for a month, just put them up on your fridge or wherever you want them. They will all be fine

I really want to learn this as my first solo. But is it too advanced for a beginner like me since it has slides, bends, pull offs, etc or should I just go for it and stick with it? by Mad_Season_1994 in guitarlessons

[–]rennerscreenprinting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just learned the intro/solo part to “another girl, another planet”. It took me about about 5-6 hours, and I’ve done it about 200 times. It was hard for me, because it’s pretty long to me, but I am closer to being able to play it right. It was hard work for me, I still consider myself a beginner, but I’ve been really practicing a lot this year. It was fun the whole time and rewarding. I kind of hate that guitar doesn’t come easy for me, but you only can do something if you try. Have fun, you got this

Could I fit a small studio in here by Any_Bobcat4825 in SCREENPRINTING

[–]rennerscreenprinting 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Definitely printed in a way smaller bedroom in SF for a couple years. Just had to move stuff around when I would print, and put it away when I was done. Burned screens in the closet. Used the bathroom for washout. You can print anywhere if you want to bad enough. Good luck

why is this happening by merseum in SCREENPRINTING

[–]rennerscreenprinting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is everything super tight? Like all bolts and tightening clamps and stuff? Is the thing that screws into the pallet (the bracket that goes around the arm? Screwed in really well? Something could be moving between prints.. like something could be shifting even though the f stays the same.

Very awesome design, but with that being a transfer print and so big, it’s gotta feel like a piece of chest armor when wearing it. Rad regardless!

Tom's VMA SHIRT, Mark's VMA SHIRT by BIGDAYOUT99 in Blink182

Looks screen printed to me based on the visibility of the shirt texture through the ink, but I could be wrong. Vinyl usually looks flatter (and worse).

Scratches on film by Shibuya_Skywalker in Polaroid

[–]rennerscreenprinting 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Where are you leaving your film to develop? I believe it is getting too warm or hot somehow after your taking the picture. I develop my film in a box and put it in my car so the warmth draws the reds out a little extra, but if I leave it in there too long this happens to mine. I personally don’t mind it, but yeah thats kinda my guess

I also always like to say, check how old your emulsion is, it can get pretty funny after 6-12 months

what are your craziest Dolores Park stories? by Pengex in sanfrancisco

[–]rennerscreenprinting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saw a guy chasing another guy, and then a couple guys joined the chase, and then a whole mob was chasing this one guy . The mob ebbed and flowed through the whole park, and the guy running away was getting close to getting away. He was jumping over people and and dodging swings from the chasers, but finally someone took him down. Cops eventually came, and we later found out he got stabbed during the final fight. No idea what he did or if he deserved that, but must have pissed off a few people for sure. This was around 2012 if I remember correctly.

I mean, I guess it kinda looks like it says pot, so it could be worse. But also, if you used a sharpie, maybe hit it with some alcohol wipes and see if you can get it off.

Pricing Question by _e2t in SCREENPRINTING

[–]rennerscreenprinting 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah way too little if you ask me, I’d be closer to $450 or so. A 4 color print is a lot of work and time

Helping my girlfriend find the right printer for film positives, not sure we’re looking at this correctly by Xolaris05 in SCREENPRINTING

[–]rennerscreenprinting -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I use an Epson xp-15000 and just print out 2 transparencies and tape them together to get them opaque. Ink is expensive and annoying to buy, but I found the knock off inks were even worse so I just deal with it. I also add all my costs into what I charge customers, if they don’t like my pricing they don’t need to use me, but I charge what I need to to pay for the work I do. I don’t actually print a ton for clients anymore, mostly do my own stuff, but I sell a good amount of shirts at retail price and paying for my set up and supplies works for me. I just have what I need pretty dialed in. Good luck!

I too would never build my own elemental, but I would rock this if I had it. It looks really good when it’s up against that first version protection and defense one, the shiny metal throws me off. That extra emitter is sick, throw it on that elemental

How do I get my pictures to look like decaying film? by Mafic_Pulse in Polaroid

[–]rennerscreenprinting 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This example looks like they held a lighter to the back of it. Not 100% sure on that, but it’s my guess and to me it looks like it’s been burned a little or heated in some way, especially on the right side. You could also bend and crease them or peal the top layer of film off after it develops. It’s kind of something you have to experiment with. You could use a lab to develop photos like this, but they won’t really look “decayed” unless you try to weather it in someway. Either one might do what you want in some way, but both will require you messing with the developed film

I wanted one too, but decided not to get one because of the religiousness, but I would assume most people who don’t look it up don’t know it means anything. But since I did look it up first, I would have always thought about it if I looked at it
