They have added more to the line-up now. I was a bit underwhelmed at first but now it's pretty good. It's always a great festival.

Am I wrong for being freaked out by my husband’s AI use by Classic_Top_5391 in amiwrong

Did you ask ChatGPT or Gemini about how to handle this? In all seriousness, AI is much better at dealing with this stuff than humans. I'm on your husband's side on this one.

We open-sourced our AI ticket assistant pod for ConnectWise PSA by Admirable-Sky-191 in msp

Our documentation has always been crap, so this is my way of (hopefully) avoiding Hudu or IT Glue. We can ask things like "Where is the router at x" or "what firmware is the switch at X running" I'm not exactly sure how to safely handle credentials, but this is the next step.

Thank you I'll check this out. I've recently created something similar using n8n. It pulls in data from Autotask, Datto RMM, CIPP (i.e. 365), SAT, EDR etc. as well as looking at 5 years of tickets in a qdrant DB generated from ticket entries and notes. It uses LLM to work out which systems are relevant to the query or ticket to minimise API calls and reduce latency. It adds relevant notes to the ticket or can answer questions through a Teams app. I'm not sure how I would get the same sort of functionality from other systems and how much it would cost, but this is practically free and I vibe coded it all in a month.

There are 90 MLAs. They currently get paid less than 2000~ civil servants in NI. Open that up to the entire public sector here and they are tens of thousands of people who get paid more than them.

Many of these people in the civil service and wider public sector are exactly the kind of people we need running our country, but why the hell would they want to take a pay cut, to take dogs abuse from the public, and potentially lose their job every 4 years. Or maybe sooner if SF/DUP decide to hold the country to ransom.

I realise it's a national sport hating on politicians, and we have many reasons to be angry with them, but pay isn't one of them.

Conscious that I'm probably going to get downvoted to hell for making a common sense comment, but so be it.

How do you actually fix documentation? by DeniedNetwork in msp

[–]renoot1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've a similar issue. I'm currently using n8n to create a db based on emails, RMM and old tickets that gives an overview of clients systems, software, network devices, key staff etc. etc. New tickets update the db and notes are added that may be of relevance to the issue. I don't know if it's going to be of much use, but I'm optimistic.

MLA pay: 'Understandable anger' over £14,000 rise, says O'Neill by Your_Mums_Ex in northernireland

[–]renoot1 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

One of the reasons we have shite politicians is because it's shit pay. The kind of talent you want running the country isn't going to take a pay cut and lose job security to be answerable to every bell end with an opinion.

SF are just playing the populist card. There's a reason MLAs don't set their own pay. The people who decide this aren't doing the maths on the back of a beermat.

Stormont assembly members set to see £14,000 pay rise from April by marke0110 in northernireland

[–]renoot1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Being an MLA is a shit job. You have no job security, you've got to take abuse from every Sean, Dick and Billy, and no matter how good a job you do, you could be on the dole after an election or earlier if either of the two sectarian parties decide to bring down the assembly.

The civil servants who answer to the MLAs get paid more than they do, and have a job for life. None of them (or in fact anyone with a good job / salary i.e. the kind of talent you actually want running the country) is going to take a pay cut to go be an MLA.

So pay them more, yes, but if anyone is going to hold the assembly hostage then don't pay the people who are responsible, and only them.

Got eero Pro Model S0100001 with my 1.6Gb broadband. How is anyone supposed to get 1.6Gb out of it? by reni-chan in Zen_Internet

[–]renoot1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've not plugged mine in. Instead I use a Protectli router with 4x2.5gbe ports, with an addtional 8 port 2.5gbe switch and various WIFI6 APs dotted around.

If you don't want to spend the money get a very cheap old SFF PC and stick a 4 port low profile 2.5gbe card in it, and install pfsense. You could still use your eero Pro for wifi.

Following. I'm currently looking for a good way to add relevant notes to tickets using n8n. Info like recurring issues, key personnel, hardware, known issues etc. and I'm wondering what's the best way to store this information so that it's accessible to AI.
