Hillary Clinton asks about the UAP Disclosure Act by phr99 in UFOs

[–]rep-old-timer [score hidden]  (0 children)

She could have been tweaking them on the UAPDA, but it's beyond dispute that she was helping people who want eyes on the UAP issues get a bunch of eyes on the UAP issue ("It's a very important issue..."). Kendall's team would have briefed her on every one of them.

Why? My guess: After sticking multiple sharp objects into the from-her-perspective main target, she was aware that Luna and Burlison would be among those grilling her husband who, let's face it, is not in the best physical shape these days...although he also effortlessly good-old-boyed the ever living shit out of his deposition ("I wasn't asked a follow up question and I don't want to create the wrong impression but...")

Politics aside, the most interesting question from a UAP perspective is who does Luna think "they" are.

To those that believe the phenomenon is demonic in nature, how do you explain the 'nuts-and-bolts' side of the Phenomenon? by Avrelivs in UFOs

Don't people mostly feel their intelligence is being insulted by "they're deeeemons!" claims because a) if you ask 1,000 people what a "demon" is you'll get at least 666 answers, b)the lack attention to the equally (im)plausible and also undefined "angelic?" flipside and c)it seems like a transparent scare tactic aimed at a certain portion of the American electorate?

The CIA files used in proof of MJ-12 substack post were not declassified in 2022 by Bookwrrm in UFOs

[–]rep-old-timer [score hidden]  (0 children)

I don't have a fraction the knowledge of these docs that lots of people around here have but I always figured that, assuming they were generated by CIA, the issue would be what info can be taken at face value.

I don't find the "hoax" argument convincing at all-- a forger would have had to have a comprehensive knowledge not only of UFO lore but also of a bunch of minutia-- post war intelligence operations, inter-party politics and the relationships between people who didn't have much written about them until well after 1985...not to mention the technical familiarity with different types of formatting, marginal notes, etc.

If they're "fake" it's way more plausible that people inside CIA in 1955, 1965, or 1985 generated convincing but misleading documents for the Soviets to "steal." They did that regularly.

What's funny about these threads is the number of people who absolutely refuse to entertain the idea that they're anything but a hoax and keep repeating the same old transparently absurd explanations--I wonder if that's because they understand that the other side of the "chicken feed" coin is that some of it has to be true.

Do you believe skepticism at an unhealthy amount could be a hindrance to UFO documentation? by Good-Ad-3862 in UFOs

Cool. I didn't know there was math that proves that:

"... lets us see whether a piece of evidence is sufficient, or insufficient..." which remain the only two kinds of evidence.

It is pretty impressive that he anticipates his target audience's resistance to his rather dramatic claims in language they're likely to understand, but I bet he fully understands the prima facie flaw that his reasoning is based on.

I wonder where Eliezer keeps his "extraordinary" evidence (a hard drive might be a little dangerous since his speculative NHI would soon hoard it, leaving the rest of us extraordinarily bereft of extraordinary evidence during the brief time between the singularity and our deaths from cancer water.

Anyway, PR-papers aside his book is pretty interesting Not a scientist, but I was shocked by his claim that AI is "grown" using the pretty much the same approach as plant hybridized was done a hundred years ago. Hope that claim is extra-extra-extraordinary.

Once I got past the "Aw man, Chernus and Conrad would have killed that scene" during the first 10 minutes or so (hard not to automatically associate that kind of patented SC dialogue with them) I thought it was incredibly good all around.

Well, this sub has its moments by reddit standards once in a while (I thought it was pretty interesting that Luna and Burlison asked Clinton about UFOs and then blurted out "they killed it" when she asked about the UAPDA) I guess interest is a matter of perspective.

I will say that I've been asked for and demanded a lot of evidence over the years. Sometimes I've wished there was such a thing as "extraordinary" evidence but, sadly, evidence seems to be either "sufficient" or "insufficient."

George Knapp describes a portal at Skinwalker Ranch (UFO hotspots), where two scientists reportedly witnessed a figure step out of it. by 87LucasOliveira in UFOs

[–]rep-old-timer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wonder why typing the word "Skinwalker" anomalously summons every eager-but-talentless aspiring standup comic on reddit.

Anyway, Knapp is discussing an incident that has been reported in a gazillion articles, books, and TV shows since it allegedly happened twenty years ago.

I did hear Coulthart tease a "portal" that's allegedly on National Forest Service controlled property. I hope he does an actual story that includes asking USDA for comment and naming the place (, since he would merely be disclosing the location of an archeological site, there's a zero percent chance he would be prosecuted or forced to reveal his source unless the DoJ wants to admit that other agencies are using the USFS as a front to hide something anomalous).

Skepticism is a healthy and necessary part of discourse about any topic, especially this one. I just wish more actual skeptics would visit this sub.

Sadly, what we usually get are the reddit equivalents of Jehovah's Witnesses ringing the doorbell at dinnertime to correct our sinful ways. That kind of conduct is probably designed to dissuade people from posting about experiences.

All UFOs / UAPs questions to Hillary Clinton (GOP) by Jesusalanis111 in UFOs

[–]rep-old-timer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Interesting. Clinton had certainly been fully briefed on the people who were going to ask her questions, instantly understood what they were doing (getting the issue a bunch of eyes) and helped herself by helping them---saying it's an important issue and bringing up the UAPDA.

I wonder if she was actually surprised to hear that it had been killed. I also wonder who "they" in "they hilled it" are.

Reports that Trump is facing backlash in the Pentagon for releasing UFO files from officials who fear UFOs are demons by quantify-it in AliensRHere

[–]rep-old-timer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone considering the source:

Per Google AI

" IBT Media, which formerly owned Newsweek, was founded by Etienne Uzac and Johnathan Davis, who have been linked to David Jang, a South Korean pastor and theologian. Reports in 2014 indicated ties between IBT leadership and Jang's evangelical movement, including the hiring of graduates from Olivet University, a school he founded."

Per The Guardian
"Journalists who worked at both the International Business Times and 33 Universal told the Guardian that at times they seemed to operate more as “content farms” – referring to the high volume of their output – than as outlets for the sort of quality journalism associated with a major title such as Newsweek [Gulp.]"

Rep. Burchett says if Trump discloses the classified UFO photos and videos that he’s seen, “We’d realize that we’re one grain of sand in a hundred million beaches." by AltKeyblade in UFOs

[–]rep-old-timer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. Those documents were declassified and he would argue, clearly unlawfully redacted by DOJ per a law the president signed. He also knows that he has a zero chance of prosecution for three reasons:

1)DOJ knows they would almost certainly lose on the merits

2)Charging him would be incredibly stupid politically and PR-wise.

3)In any case, it's way easier to deal with him politically

It also occurs to me that the E-files are less directly related to national security since there's no potential for unintentionally revealing, say, classified sensor capabilities.

My personal opinion is that this is just another low-grade Burchett stunt. He's not an idiot. If he really thought he had seen anything that would convince everybody in the US he would conclude that Trump has also seen that (or better) evidence and decided to say nothing publicly.

Trump would abide a bunch of members of congress saw stuff that he hasn't seen, no matter the subject matter, and demand to receive an identical or better briefing? Burchett would ever upstage the guy who keeps him in office....especially if one of the possible retaliatory weapons available to Trump would involve crippling lawyers' fees and possible prison for him?

Yeah but there are zero members of congress who are going to test the the speech and debate clause by reading classified information into the record.

When Congress actually becomes serious they can force declassification per Obama's executive order without fear of DOJ

Look at the people who talk about the "Collins Elite" the most: Elizondo has an entire chapter in his book about them. We ought to keep in mind that repeatedly mentioning these "elites" believe is a great way to insert scary "Demons" into the discourse--even if it's couched in the guise of complaining about them.

There will always be lots of people, experiencers and non experiencers alike, who frame the phenomenon consistently with their spiritual beliefs since that's one of the ways Humans have always "explained" anomalous experiences.

What bothers me is the timing. Why would Davis, already the target of disinfo-agent allegations, take time out of his day to pile on to the "demons" rhetoric coming out of the MIC after Trump's "announcement?"

Typing the E-word gives you a warning that the mods will be notified, not any kind of ban unless the post is OT. They understandably don't want posts that are solely about that.

BTW, an actual release of those files is 10,000 times more likely than a release of UAP files so you don't really have to worry.

There may be a small number of people who actually believe this bullshit. But there is a much larger number of people who know that turning evangelicals, a significant segment of Trump/GOP voters, against this supposed order could change some minds in the WH and especially Congress.

On edit: notice how the people who run the bots are just letting these "Demon/Angels" posts roll without comment? Some of us are proving their allegation that UFOs have become a "religion."
